On 5th September 1661 Thomas Fanshawe 1st Viscount Fanshawe (age 65) was created 1st Viscount Fanshawe. Elizabeth Cockayne Viscountess Fanshawe (age 52) by marriage Viscountess Fanshawe.
On 30th March 1665 Thomas Fanshawe 1st Viscount Fanshawe (age 69) died. His son Thomas (age 33) succeeded 2nd Viscount Fanshawe. Sarah Evelyn Viscountess Fanshawe and Castleton (age 23) by marriage Viscountess Fanshawe.
In 1674 Thomas Fanshawe 2nd Viscount Fanshawe (age 42) died. His son Evelyn (age 5) succeeded 3rd Viscount Fanshawe.
On 18th October 1687 Evelyn Fanshawe 3rd Viscount Fanshawe (age 18) died in Aleppo, Syria. He was buried at Ware, Hertfordshire [Map]. His uncle Charles (age 44) succeeded 4th Viscount Fanshawe.
In 1710 Charles Fanshawe 4th Viscount Fanshawe (age 67) died. His brother Simon (age 61) succeeded 5th Viscount Fanshawe.
On 23rd October 1716 Simon Fanshawe 5th Viscount Fanshawe (age 67) died. Viscount Fanshawe extinct. The History of the Fanshawe Family. By H C Fanshawe. Privately Published, 1927, p 127: "When, in 1886, upon the re-seating of that parish church [St Mary's Church, Ware], the Ware Park vault was filled up - this was most improperly done without any reference to the Fanshawe family - the plate of his coffin was found, bearing the inscription: The Rt Honble Simon Lord Fanshae, Viscot. Dromore, in the Kingdom of Ireland Died Octr ye 23d 1716 Aetat 68." His will was proved on the 9th of January 1717.
