Récits d’un bourgeois de Valenciennes aka The Chronicle of a Bourgeois of Valenciennes is a vivid 14th-century vernacular chronicle written by an anonymous urban chronicler from Valenciennes in the County of Hainaut. Around 1736 Petrus Johannes van Reysschoot (age 33) travelled to England where he established himself as a painter of portraits, history and sporting scenes. He returned in 1737 on the death of his father.

On or 24th February 1772 Petrus Johannes van Reysschoot (age 70) died.
