In February 1769 [his father] John Butler 17th Earl Ormonde 11th Earl Ossory (age 28) and [his mother] Frances Wandesford Countess Ormonde and Ossory (age 15) were married. She the sole heiress of her father [his grandfather] John Wandesford 1st Earl Wandesford (age 43). She the daughter of John Wandesford 1st Earl Wandesford. He the son of [his grandfather] Walter Butler 16th Earl Ormonde 9th Earl Ossory (age 65).
On 15th July 1777 James Wandesford Butler 1st Marquess Ormonde was born to John Butler 17th Earl Ormonde 11th Earl Ossory (age 36) and Frances Wandesford Countess Ormonde and Ossory (age 23).
On 25th December 1795 [his father] John Butler 17th Earl Ormonde 11th Earl Ossory (age 55) died. His son [his brother] Walter (age 25) succeeded 18th Earl Ormonde, 12th Earl Ossory.
On 12th October 1807 James Wandesford Butler 1st Marquess Ormonde (age 30) and Grace Louisa Staples Marchioness Ormonde were married. He the son of John Butler 17th Earl Ormonde 11th Earl Ossory and Frances Wandesford Countess Ormonde and Ossory (age 53).
On 24th August 1808 [his son] John Butler 2nd Marquess Ormonde was born to James Wandesford Butler 1st Marquess Ormonde (age 31) and [his wife] Grace Louisa Staples Marchioness Ormonde.
In 1814 [his son] Walter Wandesford Butler was born to James Wandesford Butler 1st Marquess Ormonde (age 36) and [his wife] Grace Louisa Staples Marchioness Ormonde.
In 1815 [his son] James Wandesford Butler was born to James Wandesford Butler 1st Marquess Ormonde (age 37) and [his wife] Grace Louisa Staples Marchioness Ormonde.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.
