On 24th May 1764 Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas (age 23) and Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas (age 17) were married. She the daughter of William Fitzwilliam 1st and 3rd Earl Fitzwilliam and Anne Watson Wentworth Countess Fitzwilliam.
On 10th April 1766 [his son] Lawrence Dundas 1st Earl Zetland was born to Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas (age 25) and [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas (age 19) in Westminster [Map].
In 1767 [his daughter] Anne Dundas was born to Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas (age 25) and [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas (age 20).
In 1770 [his brother-in-law] William Fitzwilliam 4th and 2nd Earl Fitzwilliam (age 21) and Charlotte Ponsonby Countess Fitzwilliam were married. The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 4th January 1803 the first steamboat, the Charlotte Dundas, first sailing was on the canal in Glasgow with Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas (age 61), who commissioned its construction, and a few of his relatives and friends on board. The boat was designed and built by William Symington and John Allan, respectively, and the engine by the Carron Company.

On 25th January 1810 [his son] Charles Lawrence Dundas (age 38) died.
On 4th May 1814 [his son-in-law] John Charles Ramsden (age 26) and [his daughter] Isabella Dundas (age 24) were married.
On 14th June 1820 Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas (age 79) died. His son [his son] Lawrence (age 54) succeeded 2nd Baron Dundas, 3rd Baronet Dundas of Kerse. [his daughter-in-law] Harriet Hale Baroness Dundas (age 50) by marriage Baroness Dundas.
On 11th February 1833 [his former wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas (age 86) died.
