In September 999 [his father] Bermudo "Gouty" II King Galicia II King Leon (age 46) died. His son Alfonso (age 5) succeeded V King Leon.

In 1013 Alfonso "Noble" V King Leon (age 19) and Elvira González Queen Consort Leon (age 17) were married. She by marriage Queen Consort Leon. He the son of Bermudo "Gouty" II King Galicia II King Leon and Elviro Garcia Queen Galicia (age 35).

Around 1015 [his son] Bermudo III King Leon was born to Alfonso "Noble" V King Leon (age 21) and [his wife] Elvira González Queen Consort Leon (age 19). He married his half second cousin Jimena Sánchez Jiménez Queen Consort Leon, daughter of Sancho "Great" III King Pamplona and Muniadona García Queen Consort Pamplona, and had issue.

In 1017 [his mother] Elviro Garcia Queen Galicia (age 39) died.

Around 1018 [his daughter] Sancha Astur Leonese was born to Alfonso "Noble" V King Leon (age 24) and [his wife] Elvira González Queen Consort Leon (age 22). She married in or before 1033 her half second cousin Ferdinand "Great" I King Leon, son of Sancho "Great" III King Pamplona and Muniadona García Queen Consort Pamplona, and had issue.

On 2nd December 1022 [his wife] Elvira González Queen Consort Leon (age 26) died.

On 7th August 1028 Alfonso "Noble" V King Leon (age 34) died. His son Bermudo (age 13) succeeded III King Leon. Jimena Sánchez Jiménez Queen Consort Leon by marriage Queen Consort Leon.
