In 1950 George Thomas 7th Baronet (age 68) was awarded the International Master title by FIDE.

In 1952 George Thomas 7th Baronet (age 70) became an International Arbiter by FIDE.

In 1996 George Thomas 7th Baronet was inducted into the World Badminton Hall of Fame as an Inaugural Member.
