On 02 Jul 1687 Humphrey Briggs 4th Baronet (age 17) matriculated Wadham College, Oxford University.
In 1691 [his grandfather] Humphrey Briggs 2nd Baronet (age 76) died. His son [his father] Humphrey Briggs 3rd Baronet (age 41) succeeded 3rd Baronet Briggs of Haughton in Shropshire.
In 1700 [his father] Humphrey Briggs 3rd Baronet (age 50) died. His son Humphrey Briggs 4th Baronet (age 30) succeeded 4th Baronet Briggs of Haughton in Shropshire.
In Feb 1701 Humphrey Briggs 4th Baronet (age 31) was elected MP Shropshire. He was defeated for the seat in Nov 1701.
In Jul 1702 Humphrey Briggs 4th Baronet (age 32) was elected MP Bridgnorth unopposed. He was re-elected in 1705 and 1708. He was defeated in 1710.
On 13 Jul 1716 Humphrey Briggs 4th Baronet (age 46) was elected MP Much Wenlock at a by-election. He was returned in the 1722 General Election. He stood down in 1727.
