In or before 1644 Richard Hoghton 3rd Baronet (age 28) and Sarah Stanhope Lady Hoghton were married. She the daughter of Philip Stanhope 1st Earl Chesterfield (age 59) and Catherine Hastings Countess Chesterfield.
Around 1644 [his son] Charles Hoghton 4th Baronet was born to Richard Hoghton 3rd Baronet (age 28) and [his wife] Sarah Stanhope Lady Hoghton.
In 1645 [his brother-in-law] Charles Stanhope (age 38) died.

On 03 Feb 1678 Richard Hoghton 3rd Baronet (age 62) died. His son [his son] Charles Hoghton 4th Baronet (age 34) succeeded 4th Baronet Hoghton of Hoghton Tower in Lancashire.
