In 1529 John Mordaunt 1st Baron Mordaunt (age 49) was created 1st Baron Mordaunt. Elizabeth Vere Baroness Mordaunt by marriage Baroness Mordaunt.

On 18th August 1562 John Mordaunt 1st Baron Mordaunt (age 82) died at Bedford, Bedfordshire [Map]. His son John (age 54) succeeded 2nd Baron Mordaunt.

In 1571 John Mordaunt 2nd Baron Mordaunt (age 63) died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Turvey [Map]. His son Lewis (age 32) succeeded 3rd Baron Mordaunt.

On 2nd June 1543 Ellen Fitzlewis (age 21) died. In April 1592 Joan Fermor (age 27) died.

Ellen Fitzlewis: In 1522 she was born to John Fitzlewis. Before 1538 John Mordaunt 2nd Baron Mordaunt and she were married.

Joan Fermor: Around 1516 she was born to Richard Fermor and Anne Browne. After 1543 John Mordaunt 2nd Baron Mordaunt and she were married.

On 16th June 1601 Lewis Mordaunt 3rd Baron Mordaunt (age 62) died at Drayton, Northamptonshire [Map]. His son Henry (age 34) succeeded 4th Baron Mordaunt.

He was buried at All Saints Church, Turvey [Map] where he has a black-painted alabaster pall and black marble slab. The Mordaunt crest appears to have changed to an African woman.

Henry Mordaunt 4th Baron Mordaunt: In 1567 he was born to Lewis Mordaunt 3rd Baron Mordaunt. Before 1608 Henry Mordaunt 4th Baron Mordaunt and Margaret Compton Baroness Mordaunt were married. She by marriage Baroness Mordaunt. She the daughter of Henry Compton 1st Baron Compton and Anne Spencer Countess Dorset. In 1608 Henry Mordaunt 4th Baron Mordaunt died. His son John succeeded 5th Baron Mordaunt.

Before 1608 Henry Mordaunt 4th Baron Mordaunt (age 40) and Margaret Compton Baroness Mordaunt were married. She by marriage Baroness Mordaunt. She the daughter of Henry Compton 1st Baron Compton and Anne Spencer Countess Dorset.

In 1608 Henry Mordaunt 4th Baron Mordaunt (age 41) died. His son John succeeded 5th Baron Mordaunt.

On 18th June 1642 John Mordaunt 1st Earl Peterborough died. His son Henry (age 20) succeeded 2nd Earl Peterborough, 6th Baron Mordaunt.

On 19th June 1697 Henry Mordaunt 2nd Earl Peterborough (age 75) died. His nephew Charles (age 39) succeeded 3rd Earl Peterborough. His daughter Mary (age 38) succeeded 7th Baroness Mordaunt. Carey Fraser Countess Peterborough and Monmouth (age 37) by marriage Countess Peterborough.

On 17th November 1705 Mary Mordaunt Duchess Norfolk (age 46) died. Her first cousin Charles (age 47) succeeded 8th Baron Mordaunt. Her husband John Germain 1st Baronet (age 55) inherited her Drayton estates and the rest of her inheritance, valued at £70,000.

On 25th October 1735 Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth (age 77) died. His grandson Charles (age 27) succeeded 4th Earl Peterborough, 2nd Earl Monmouth, 9th Baron Mordaunt, 3rd Viscount Mordaunt of Avalon, 3rd Baron Mordaunt of Reigate.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 1st August 1779 Charles Mordaunt 4th Earl Peterborough 2nd Earl Monmouth (age 71) died. His son Charles (age 21) succeeded 5th Earl Peterborough, 3rd Earl Monmouth, 10th Baron Mordaunt, 4th Viscount Mordaunt of Avalon, 4th Baron Mordaunt of Reigate.

On 22nd June 1819 Mary Anastasia Grace Mordaunt 11th Baroness Mordaunt (age 80) died. Her second cousin Alexander (age 76) succeeded 12th Baron Mordaunt.

On 17th June 1827 Alexander Gordon 4th Duke Gordon (age 83) died. His son George (age 57) succeeded 5th Duke Gordon, 8th Marquess Huntly, 13th Earl Huntley, 13th Baron Mordaunt. Elizabeth Brodie Duchess Gordon (age 32) by marriage Duchess Gordon.

On 28th May 1836 George Gordon 5th Duke Gordon (age 66) died without legitimate issue at Belgrave Square, Belgravia. Duke Gordon, Baron Mordaunt extinct. His fourth cousin once removed George (age 74) succeeded 9th Marquess Huntly, 14th Earl Huntley.

On 5th June 1675 John Mordaunt 1st Viscount Mordaunt (age 48) died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Fulham. His son Charles (age 17) succeeded 2nd Viscount Mordaunt of Avalon, 2nd Baron Mordaunt of Reigate.

On 25th October 1735 Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth (age 77) died. His grandson Charles (age 27) succeeded 4th Earl Peterborough, 2nd Earl Monmouth, 9th Baron Mordaunt, 3rd Viscount Mordaunt of Avalon, 3rd Baron Mordaunt of Reigate.

On 1st August 1779 Charles Mordaunt 4th Earl Peterborough 2nd Earl Monmouth (age 71) died. His son Charles (age 21) succeeded 5th Earl Peterborough, 3rd Earl Monmouth, 10th Baron Mordaunt, 4th Viscount Mordaunt of Avalon, 4th Baron Mordaunt of Reigate.
