In the name of god Amen the xxijth of August the yeare of our lord god 1610 I John WATERHOUSE of heafeild thelder beinge of whole mind & in good & perfect remembrance laude & praise be unto almightyie god make & ordaine this my present testament concerninge herin my last will in maner & forme followinge that is to say first I Commend my soule unto Almighty god my maker & redeemer & my body to buryed in the parishe church of Glossop and I bequeath towards the [Casinge] of both at heafeild viz

Item I will that all my debts & duties as I owe of Right or of Conference to any person or persons be well & truly Contented & payde by myne executors herafter named or els ordained for so to be payde without any delay or contradiction

In the name of god Amen the seaven and twentyth daye of Januarie One thousand Sixe hundred twentie ffoure I Thomas WATERHOUSE the elder of Hassellhurst in the Countie of Darbie yeoman being Sicke in bodie but of good and perfect remembrance laude and praise be given unto Almightie god, Doe Constitute and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner an fforme ffollowing

That is to say, ffirst I Commend and Comitt my soule into the handes of Almightie god my maker and Ptector and my bodie to be buried after a Christian maner within the Chappell of Heyffeilde

Ite my debts and funerall expences discharged, I give and bequeath unto [his son] Margarett WATERHOUSE Daughter of Thomas WATERHOUSE (age 30) my eldest Sonne An ewe and a lambe,

Ite I give unto the children of John CRESWELL and Thomas BENNETT my Sonnes in lawe everie of them twelve pence,

Ite I give unto Thomas BENNETT afore said And to Ann his wife sixe shillings eight pence in liewe and ffull satisfaccon of her or their childs pte or other Demandes,

Ite I give and bequeath unto Robt GREENSMITH and to Elizabeth his wife Twelve pence, in liewe and ffull satisfaccon of her or their childs pte or porcon or other Demandes except the Sume of ffoure poundes wich I owe and Do stand Indebted unto the said Robert GREENSMITH and to Elizabeth his wife,

Item I give and bequeath unto Ann WATERHOUSE (age 58) my wife And to [his brother] Robert WATERHOUSE (age 26) my Sonne all the rest and remainder of all my goods & cattels aswell imoveable as immoveable to bee equally Devided between them,

And my will is That the said Ann WATERHOUSE (age 58) my wife And Robert WATERHOUSE (age 26) my Sonne shall be executors of this my last will and Testament,

And I nominate and appoint Thomas WATERHOUSE (age 30) my sonne and William BEARD Overseers of this my last will in hope they will see yt pformed according to the trust and repose I putt in them

A true Inventorie of all goods Chattels and Cattels moveable and Immoveable of Thomas WATERHOUSE of Haslehurst in the pish of Glossop and Countie of Darbie yeoman Deceased as they are praysed and valued the daye and yeare above said by William RALINSON of the Highgate in the pish & Countie afore said gentleman, And Thomas WATERHOUSE of the Sprayhouse yeoman And Henery MELLOER and Thomas MELLER of the Townend in the pish of Chappell in Leyffrith and Countie afore said yeoman:

In 1630 [his son] Dorothie Waterhouse was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Hasselhurst (age 35). More likely 1632+ since her sister [his son] Margaret Waterhouse was born in 1631 and is referred to before in her father's will.

In 1631 [his son] Margaret Waterhouse was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Hasselhurst (age 36).

In 1635 [his son] Joan Waterhouse m Ridgeway was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Hasselhurst (age 40).

In Aug 1635 [his son] John Waterhouse was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Hasselhurst (age 40). He was baptised on 09 Sep 1636 at St Matthew's Church, Hayfield [Map]. Record.

[his uncle] Ottiwell WATERHOUSE of Lanesyde [Map] in Ollersett: February 1637. [Note. this is Feb 1638]

On or before 17 Jul 1638 [his son] Nicholas Waterhouse was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Hasselhurst (age 43). He was baptised on 17 Jul 1638 at St Matthew's Church, Hayfield [Map].

On or before 02 Jun 1641 [his son] Martha Waterhouse m Lomas was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Hasselhurst (age 46). She was baptised at St Matthew's Church, Hayfield [Map] on 02 Jun 1641. She was a twin with her brother [his son] Raphe Waterhouse of Hasselhurst.

On or before 02 Jun 1641 [his son] Raphe Waterhouse of Hasselhurst was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Hasselhurst (age 46). He was baptised on 02 Jun 1641 at St Matthew's Church, Hayfield [Map]. He was a twin with his sister [his son] Martha Waterhouse m Lomas.

15 Aug 1662. Thomas WATERHOUSE (age 67) of Hasslehurst (age 67): Chesterfield: 15 August 1662

In the Name of god Amen the seaventinth day of January in the Twelst yeare of our soveraign Lord Charles the Second one thousand sixe hundred and sixtie I Thomas WATERHOUSE of Hasslehurst in the pish of Glossop and County of derbie yeoman being in pfect memory and remembrance praysed be god for it doe Constitute ordaine and make this my last will and testament in maner and fforme following ffirst I bequeath my soule in to the hands of allmighty god my maker and Creator hoping that through the meritoriouse death and pasion of Jesus Christ my onely saviour and redimer to receive ffree pardon and forgivenes of all my sinnes and as for my body to be buryed in Christian bury all at the discrescon of my Execut[ ] here[after] nominated

Item I give unto [his son] Martha WATERHOUSE (age 21) my doughter twentie pounds to be pead with in sixe yeares next after my decease Item it is my will and mind that if any of my Children dye before there portions Cum to be due that thin it shal returne to [his son] Thomas WATERHOUSE (age 32) my Eldest sonne [crease in original] one bedhilling and one Cow [stearke] the same to be keept till [ ] day

Itm I give unto Margreat my doughter one shilling due and satisfaction of her marriage portion

Item All rest my houses lands and goods whatsoever I give unto Thomas WATERHOUSE my Eldest sonne ffor ever upon condicon that hee shall pay all my debts and legacies and I ordaine and make Thomas WATERHOUSE my Eldest sonne my sole Ex[ ] of this my last will and Testament trusting he will ffull and accomplish this my last will and Testament for my soules health revockeing all other wiles and Testaments whatsoever
