The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

In 1785 [his father] Hugh Seymour-Conway (age 25) and [his mother] Anne Horatia Waldegrave (age 23) were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] James Waldegrave 2nd Earl Waldegrave and [his grandmother] Maria Walpole Duchess Gloucester and Edinburgh (age 48). He the son of [his grandfather] Francis Seymour-Conway 1st Marquess Hertford (age 66) and [his grandmother] Isabella Fitzroy Countess Hertford. They were second cousin once removed. He a great x 2 grandson of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 17th September 1787 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway was born to Hugh Seymour-Conway (age 28) and Anne Horatia Waldegrave (age 25) in Berkeley, Gloucestershire. He a great x 3 grandson of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland.

In October 1797 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 10) joined the Royal Navy.

In March 1798 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 10) was assigned to Sans Pareil in the Channel Squadron.

Around September 1798 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 10) was assigned to Prince of Wales in the West Indies.

In 1800 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 12) was transferred to Acasta.

In 1801 [his mother] Anne Horatia Waldegrave (age 39) died.

On 11th September 1801 [his father] Hugh Seymour-Conway (age 42) died.

In 1802 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 14) was transferred to Endymion.

In 1803 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 15) was transferred to Victory flagship of the Mediterranean Squadron.

In 1804 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 16) was transferred to Endymion.

In March 1811 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 23) and Georgina Mary Berkeley were married. They were half fourth cousins. He a great x 3 grandson of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

On 11th February 1812 [his son] Francis George Hugh Seymour-Conway 5th Marquess Hertford was born to Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 24) and [his wife] Georgina Mary Berkeley.

On 20th March 1818 [his son] Vice Admiral Henry George Seymour was born to Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 30) and [his wife] Georgina Mary Berkeley.

On 17th December 1832 [his daughter] Princess Laura Williamina Seymour was born to Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 45) and [his wife] Georgina Mary Berkeley.

On 9th May 1839 [his son] Francis George Hugh Seymour-Conway 5th Marquess Hertford (age 27) and [his daughter-in-law] Frances Elizabeth Anson Marchioness Hertford (age 29) were married.

In 1850 [his son-in-law] William Richard Ormsby-Gore 2nd Baron Harlech (age 30) and [his daughter] Emily Charlotte Seymour-Conway Baroness Harlech were married.

On 14th May 1857 Admiral George Francis Seymour-Conway (age 69) was appointed Admiral.

On 24th January 1861 [his son-in-law] Prince Victor of Hohenlohe Langenburg Count Gleichen (age 27) and [his daughter] Laura Seymour (age 28) were married. Their marriage was morganatic. Almost two weeks before her marriage she was created Countess von Gleichen by Ernst II, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. In 1870 she was granted her the rank and style of the daughter of a marquess by Royal Warrant of Precedence, entitling her to prefix Lady to her name.

On 26th July 1869 [his son] Vice Admiral Henry George Seymour (age 51) died.
