Biography of Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley 1750-1830

On 6th July 1740 [his father] Hugh Percy 1st Duke Northumberland [aged 24] and [his mother] Elizabeth Seymour Duchess Northumberland [aged 23] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] Algernon Seymour 7th Duke of Somerset [aged 55] and [his grandmother] Frances Thynne Duchess Somerset [aged 41].

On 21st January 1750 Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley was born to Hugh Percy 1st Duke Northumberland [aged 34] and Elizabeth Seymour Duchess Northumberland [aged 33].

On 7th February 1750 [his grandfather] Algernon Seymour 7th Duke of Somerset [aged 65] died. He was buried at Northumberland Vault, Crypt, Westminster Abbey. Earl Hertford, Baron Beauchamp of Hatch Beauchamp in Somerset and Baron Seymour of Trowbridge extinct. His half fifth cousin once removed Edward [aged 55] succeeded 8th Duke Somerset. Mary Webb Duchess Somerset [aged 53] by marriage Duchess Somerset. His daughter [his mother] Elizabeth [aged 33] succeeded 2nd Baroness Percy. His nephew Charles [aged 39] succeeded 2nd Earl Egremont.

Around 1764 Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 13] educated at Eton College [Map].

On 2nd July 1764 [his brother] Hugh Percy 2nd Duke Northumberland [aged 21] and [his sister-in-law] Anne Stuart [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of John Stuart 3rd Earl Bute [aged 51] and Mary Wortley-Montagu Countess Bute [aged 46]. He the son of [his father] Hugh Percy 1st Duke Northumberland [aged 48] and [his mother] Elizabeth Seymour Duchess Northumberland [aged 47]. They were fourth cousin once removed.

In 1766 [his father] Hugh Percy 1st Duke Northumberland [aged 50] was created 1st Duke Northumberland. [his mother] Elizabeth Seymour Duchess Northumberland [aged 49] by marriage Duchess Northumberland.

In 1774 Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 23] was elected MP Northumberland.

On 8th June 1775 Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 25] and Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 24] were married at Syon House [Map]. He the son of Hugh Percy 1st Duke Northumberland [aged 59] and Elizabeth Seymour Duchess Northumberland [aged 58].

In 1776 [his daughter] Charlotte Percy Countess Ashburham was born to Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 25] and [his wife] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 25]. She married 25th July 1795 George Ashburnham 3rd Earl Ashburnham, son of John Ashburnham 2nd Earl Ashburnham and Elizabeth Crowley Countess Ashburham, and had issue.

On 5th December 1776 [his mother] Elizabeth Seymour Duchess Northumberland [aged 60] died. Her son [his brother] Hugh [aged 34] succeeded 3rd Baron Percy

Around 1777 Douglas Hamilton 8th Duke Hamilton 5th Duke Brandon [aged 20] and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Anne Burrell Duchess Hamilton Duchess Brandon [aged 19] were married. She by marriage Duchess Hamilton, Duchess Brandon of Suffolk. He the son of James Hamilton 6th Duke Hamilton 3rd Duke Brandon and Elizabeth Gunning Duchess Hamilton and Argyll [aged 43].

In 1777 [his daughter] Elizabeth Percy was born to Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 26] and [his wife] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 26]. She died aged two in 1779.

On 22nd June 1778 [his son] George Percy 5th Duke Northumberland was born to Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 28] and [his wife] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 27]. He married 22nd June 1801 his fifth cousin once removed Louisa Harcourt Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie and had issue.

In 1779 [his daughter] Elizabeth Percy [aged 2] died. She was buried at Northumberland Vault, Crypt, Westminster Abbey.

In 1779 [his son] Algernon Percy was born to Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 28] and [his wife] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 28]. He married his fifth cousin once removed Anna Maria Fitzgerald, daughter of Charles Fitzgerald 1st Baron Lecale, and had issue.

Before 23rd May 1779 [his brother] Hugh Percy 2nd Duke Northumberland [aged 36] and [his sister-in-law] Anne Stuart [aged 34] were divorced.

He married before September 1831 his half fifth cousin Mary Manners Sutton, daughter of Archbishop Charles Manners-Sutton and Mary Thoroton, and had issue.

In 1785 [his son] Henry Percy was born to Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 34] and [his wife] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 34].

In 1786 [his daughter] Emily Charlotte Percy was born to Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 35] and [his wife] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 35].

On 20th December 1790 Elizabeth Gunning Duchess Hamilton and Argyll [aged 57] died in Argyll House 211 King's Road King's Road. Her son Douglas [aged 34] succeeded 2nd Baron Hamilton of Hameldon in Leicestershire. In 1794 [his son] Charles Greatheed Bertie Percy was born to Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 43] and [his wife] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 43].

On 25th July 1795 [his son-in-law] George Ashburnham 3rd Earl Ashburnham [aged 34] and Charlotte Percy Countess Ashburham [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 45] and Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 44]. He the son of John Ashburnham 2nd Earl Ashburnham [aged 70] and Elizabeth Crowley Countess Ashburham.

In 1796 [his daughter] Louisa Margaret Percy was born to Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 45] and [his wife] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 45]. She died aged less than one years old.

In 1796 [his daughter] Louisa Margaret Percy died. She was buried at Northumberland Vault, Crypt, Westminster Abbey.

In 1800 Henry Cecil 1st Marquess Exeter [aged 45] and [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Anne Burrell Duchess Hamilton Duchess Brandon [aged 42] were married. She by marriage Countess Exeter.

In February 1801 Henry Cecil 1st Marquess Exeter [aged 46] was created 1st Marquess Exeter. [his sister-in-law] Elizabeth Anne Burrell Duchess Hamilton Duchess Brandon [aged 43] by marriage Marchioness Exeter.

On 22nd June 1801 George Percy 5th Duke Northumberland [aged 23] and Louisa Harcourt Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie [aged 19] were married. He the son of Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 51] and Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 50]. They were fifth cousin once removed.

In 1812 [his son] Francis John Percy died.

On 24th January 1812 [his wife] Isabella Susan Burrell Countess Beverley [aged 61] died. She was buried in the Northumberland Vault, Crypt, Westminster Abbey.

On 10th July 1817 [his brother] Hugh Percy 2nd Duke Northumberland [aged 74] died. His son [his nephew] Hugh [aged 32] succeeded 3rd Duke Northumberland, 3rd Baron Lovain, 4th Baron Percy, 6th Baronet Smithson of Stanwick in Yorkshire. Charlotte Herbert Duchess Northumberland [aged 29] by marriage Duchess Northumberland.

In 1825 [his son] Henry Percy [aged 40] died.

On 21st October 1830 Algernon Percy 1st Earl Beverley [aged 80] died. His son George [aged 52] succeeded 2nd Earl Beverley.
