On 21st February 1879 Gertie Millar was born at Manningham, Bradford. Her father, John, was a mill worker and her mother, Elizabeth, a worsted-stuff worker. She began her professional career in a pantomime in Manchester,
In 1891 [her future husband] William Humble Ward 2nd Earl of Dudley (age 23) and Rachel Anne Gurney Countess Dudley (age 23) were married. She by marriage Countess of Dudley of Dudley Castle in Staffordshire. He the son of William Ward 1st Earl of Dudley and [her future mother-in-law] Georgina Moncrieffe Countess Dudley (age 44).
In 1901 Gertie Millar (age 21) met composer Lionel Monkton while appearing in one of his shows. Making hits of his music established Gertie as a star, and the couple married.
In 1902 Lionel Monkton (age 40) and Gertie Millar (age 22) were married.

On 15th February 1924 [her husband] Lionel Monkton (age 62) died. His wife Gertie Millar (age 44) married [her future husband] William Humble Ward 2nd Earl of Dudley (age 56) two months later.
On 30th April 1924 William Humble Ward 2nd Earl of Dudley (age 56) and Gertrude "Gertie" Millar Countess of Dudley (age 45) were married. She by marriage Countess of Dudley of Dudley Castle in Staffordshire. He the son of William Ward 1st Earl of Dudley and Georgina Moncrieffe Countess Dudley (age 77).
On 29th June 1932 [her husband] William Humble Ward 2nd Earl of Dudley (age 65) died. He was buried at the Earl of Dudley's Memory Garden, St Michael's Church, Himley [Map]. His son [her step-son] William (age 38) succeeded 3rd Earl of Dudley of Dudley Castle in Staffordshire, 13th Baron Ward of Birmingham.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.
