The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

She the daughter of [his grandfather] Heneage Finch 2nd Earl Aylesford (age 53) and [his grandmother] Mary Fisher Countess Aylesford (age 46). He the son of [his grandfather] Henry Bowes Howard 4th Earl Berkshire 11th Earl Suffolk (age 50) and [his grandmother] Catherine Graham Countess Berkshire and Suffolk.
On 10th May 1739 Henry Howard 12th Earl Suffolk 5th Earl Berkshire was born to William Howard (age 24) and Mary Finch (age 23).
On 21st March 1757 [his grandfather] Henry Bowes Howard 4th Earl Berkshire 11th Earl Suffolk (age 71) died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Charlton-All-Saints [Map]. His grandson Henry (age 17) succeeded 12th Earl Suffolk, 5th Earl Berkshire, 5th Viscount Andover in Hampshire, 5th Baron Howard of Charlton in Wiltshire.
On 14th August 1777 Henry Howard 12th Earl Suffolk 5th Earl Berkshire (age 38) and Charlotte Finch Countess Suffolk and Berkshire (age 23) were married. She by marriage Countess Suffolk, Countess Berkshire. She the daughter of Heneage Finch 3rd Earl Aylesford and Charlotte Seymour Countess Aylesford (age 46). They were first cousins.
In 1778 Henry Howard 12th Earl Suffolk 5th Earl Berkshire (age 38) was appointed 593rd Knight of the Garter by King George III of Great Britain and Ireland (age 39).
In September 1778 [his son] George Howard was born to Henry Howard 12th Earl Suffolk 5th Earl Berkshire (age 39) and [his wife] Charlotte Finch Countess Suffolk and Berkshire (age 24). Coefficient of inbreeding 6.66%.
On 27th December 1778 [his son] George Howard died.
On 7th March 1779 Henry Howard 12th Earl Suffolk 5th Earl Berkshire (age 39) died at Bath, Somerset [Map]. He was buried at All Saints Church, Charlton-All-Saints [Map]. On 8th August 1779 his postumous son His son [his son] Henry succeeded 13th Earl Suffolk, 6th Earl Berkshire, 6th Viscount Andover in Hampshire, 6th Baron Howard of Charlton in Wiltshire although he died two days later.

Before 16th March 1803 [his mother] Mary Finch (age 87) died. On 16th March 1803 she was buried.
On 15th July 1756 [his father] William Howard (age 41) was killed accidentally whilst driving a chaise.

Mary Finch: On 1st March 1716 she was born to Heneage Finch 2nd Earl Aylesford and Mary Fisher Countess Aylesford. On 6th November 1736 William Howard and she were married. She the daughter of Heneage Finch 2nd Earl Aylesford and Mary Fisher Countess Aylesford. He the son of Henry Bowes Howard 4th Earl Berkshire 11th Earl Suffolk and Catherine Graham Countess Berkshire and Suffolk.
