The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 23rd October 1829 John St Aubyn 1st Baron St Levan was born to Edward St Aubyn 1st Baronet (age 29) and Emma Knollys (age 23).
In 1856 John St Aubyn 1st Baron St Levan (age 26) and Elizabeth Clementina Townshend Baroness St Levan were married. She the daughter of John Townshend 4th Marquess Townshend (age 57) and Elizabeth Jane Stuart (age 52). They were sixth cousins.
On 23rd September 1857 [his son] John Townshend St Aubyn 2nd Baron St Levan was born to John St Aubyn 1st Baron St Levan (age 27) and [his wife] Elizabeth Clementina Townshend Baroness St Levan.
In 1858 John St Aubyn 1st Baron St Levan (age 28) was elected MP Cornwall West.
On 10th September 1863 [his father-in-law] John Townshend 4th Marquess Townshend (age 65) died at Raynham Hall, Norfolk. He was buried at the Church of All Saints, Hertford. His son [his brother-in-law] John (age 32) succeeded 5th Marquess Townshend, 8th Viscount Townsend, 8th Baron Townshend of Lynn Regis in Norfolk, 10th Baronet Townshend.
On 17th October 1865 [his brother-in-law] John Villiers Stuart Townshend 5th Marquess Townshend (age 34) and Anne Elizabeth Clementina Duff Marchioness Townshend (age 18) were married. She by marriage Marchioness Townshend. She the daughter of James Duff 5th Earl Fife (age 51) and Agnes Georgiana Elizabeth Hay Countess Fife (age 36). He the son of [his father-in-law] John Townshend 4th Marquess Townshend and [his mother-in-law] Elizabeth Jane Stuart (age 62).
In 1867 [his son] Arthur James Dudley Stuart St Aubyn was born to John St Aubyn 1st Baron St Levan (age 37) and [his wife] Elizabeth Clementina Townshend Baroness St Levan.
On 30th November 1872 [his father] Edward St Aubyn 1st Baronet (age 73) died. His son John (age 43) succeeded 2nd Baronet St Aubyn of St Michael's Mount in Cornwall. [his wife] Elizabeth Clementina Townshend Baroness St Levan by marriage Lady St Aubyn of St Michael's Mount in Cornwall.
In 1885 John St Aubyn 1st Baron St Levan (age 55) was elected MP St Ives.
In 1887 John St Aubyn 1st Baron St Levan (age 57) was created 1st Baron St Levan of St Michael's Mount in Cornwall. [his wife] Elizabeth Clementina Townshend Baroness St Levan by marriage Baroness St Levan of St Michael's Mount in Cornwall. They had six sons and seven daughters.
On 3rd March 1887 [his mother] Emma Knollys (age 81) died.
In 1892 [his son] John Townshend St Aubyn 2nd Baron St Levan (age 34) and [his daughter-in-law] Edith Hilaria Edgecumbe (age 30) were married. She the daughter of William Henry Edgecumbe 4th Earl of Mount Edgcumbe (age 58) and Katherine Elizabeth Hamilton Countess Mount Edgcumbe. They were sixth cousins. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland.

His son John (age 32) succeeded 6th Marquess Townshend, 9th Viscount Townsend, 9th Baron Townshend of Lynn Regis in Norfolk, 11th Baronet Townshend.
On 14th May 1908 John St Aubyn 1st Baron St Levan (age 78) died. His son [his son] John (age 50) succeeded 2nd Baron St Levan of St Michael's Mount in Cornwall, 3rd Baronet St Aubyn of St Michael's Mount in Cornwall.
In 1910 [his former wife] Elizabeth Clementina Townshend Baroness St Levan died.
