In or before 1674 [his father] John Coke (age 20) and Mary Leventhorpe were married.

On 19th February 1674 Thomas Coke was born to John Coke (age 21) in Melbourne, Derbyshire [Map]. He was baptised on the same day.

In 1692 [his father] John Coke (age 39) died in Geneva having gone abroad for health reasons.

1698 General Election

In 1698 Thomas Coke (age 23) was elected MP Derby at the 1698 General Election which seat he held until December 1701.

In June 1698 Thomas Coke (age 24) and Mary Stanhope (age 24) were married. She the daughter of Philip Stanhope 2nd Earl Chesterfield (age 64) and Elizabeth Dormer Countess Chesterfield.

1702 General Election

In 1702 Thomas Coke (age 27) was elected MP Derbyshire at the 1702 General Election.

In 1704 [his wife] Mary Stanhope (age 30) died.

1705 General Election

In 1705 Thomas Coke (age 30) was elected MP Derbyshire at the 1705 General Election.

In December 1706 Thomas Coke (age 32) exchanged offices with Peregrine Bertie (age 20). Thomas Coke was appointed Vice-Chamberlain of the Household which position he held for the rest of his life.
