Biography of William Monson 1st Viscount Oxenbridge 1829-1898

Paternal Family Tree: Monson

On 18th February 1829 William Monson 1st Viscount Oxenbridge was born to [his father] William John Monson 6th Baron Monson (age 32).

On 19th December 1831 Charles Anderson-Pelham 2nd Earl Yarborough (age 22) and [his future wife] Maria Adelaide Maude Countess Yarborough (age 17) were married. He the son of Charles Anderson-Pelham 1st Earl Yarborough (age 50).

On 5th September 1846 Charles Anderson-Pelham 1st Earl Yarborough (age 65) died aboard his yacht at Vigo. His son Charles (age 37) succeeded 2nd Earl Yarborough, 3rd Baron Yarborough. [his future wife] Maria Adelaide Maude Countess Yarborough (age 31) by marriage Countess Yarborough.

On 25th December 1861 [his brother] Debonnaire John Monson 8th Baron Monson (age 31) and [his sister-in-law] Augusta Louisa Caroline Ellis Baroness Monson (age 19) were married.

On 17th December 1862 [his father] William John Monson 6th Baron Monson (age 66) died. His son William (age 33) succeeded 7th Baron Monson of Burton in Lincolnshire, 11th Baronet Monson of Carleton in Lincolnshire.

On 7th August 1869 William Monson 1st Viscount Oxenbridge (age 40) and Maria Adelaide Maude Countess Yarborough (age 54) were married. She by marriage Baroness Monson of Burton in Lincolnshire.

On 6th February 1875 [his step-son] Charles Anderson-Pelham 3rd Earl Yarborough (age 40) died. His son Charles (age 15) succeeded 4th Earl Yarborough, 5th Baron Yarborough.

Deeds of King Henry V

Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 16th April 1898 William Monson 1st Viscount Oxenbridge (age 69) died. Viscount Oxenbridge of Burton in Lincolnshire extinct. His brother [his brother] Debonnaire (age 68) succeeded 8th Baron Monson of Burton in Lincolnshire, 12th Baronet Monson of Carleton in Lincolnshire.
