The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

On 26th June 1755 Robert Eden 3rd Baronet (age 37) died. His son John (age 14) succeeded 4th Baronet Eden of West Auckland.

On 23rd August 1812 John Eden 4th Baronet (age 71) died. His son Robert (age 37) succeeded 5th Baronet Eden of West Auckland.

On 4th September 1844 Robert Johnson Eden 5th Baronet (age 69) died without issue. His first cousin once removed William (age 41) succeeded 6th Baronet Eden of West Auckland.

On 21st October 1873 William Eden 6th and 4th Baronet (age 70) died. His son William (age 24) succeeded 5th Baronet Eden of Maryland, 7th Baronet Eden of West Auckland.

In or before 1887 William Eden 7th and 5th Baronet (age 37) and Sybil Frances Grey Lady Eden (age 19) were married. She by marriage Lady Eden of West Auckland, Lady Eden of Maryland.

On 20th February 1915 William Eden 7th and 5th Baronet (age 65) died. His son Timothy (age 22) succeeded 6th Baronet Eden of Maryland, 8th Baronet Eden of West Auckland.

In 1963 Timothy Calvert Eden 8th and 6th Baronet (age 70) died. His son John (age 37) succeeded 7th Baronet Eden of Maryland, 9th Baronet Eden of West Auckland.

On 23rd May 2020 John Eden 1st Baron Eden of Winton (age 94) died. Baron Eden of Winton in County Durham extinct since it weas created for life only. His son Robert (age 56) succeeded 8th Baronet Eden of Maryland, 10th Baronet Eden of West Auckland.
