On 16th March 1642 John Reade 1st Baronet (age 26) was created 1st Baronet Reade of Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire. Susanna Style Lady Reade by marriage Lady Reade of Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire.

On 25th June 1656 John Reade 1st Baronet (age 40) was recreated Baronet Reade of Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire by Oliver Cromwell (age 57) since the earlier creation was not recognised.

On 3rd February 1694 John Reade 1st Baronet (age 78) died. He was buried on 6th February 1694 in the Brocket Chapel at St Elthreda's Church, Bishop's Hatfield. His son James (age 38) succeeded 2nd Baronet Reade of Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire. Love Dring Lady Reade (age 39) by marriage Lady Reade of Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire.

On 16th October 1701 James Reade 2nd Baronet (age 46) died of a fever. He was buried on 21st October 1701 in the Brocket Chapel at St Elthreda's Church, Bishop's Hatfield; see monument here [Map]. His son John (age 10) succeeded 3rd Baronet Reade of Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire.

On 22nd February 1712 John Reade 3rd Baronet (age 21) died of smallpox unmarried at Rome in exile having become a Jacobite. He was buried on 11th June 1712 in the Brocket Chapel at St Elthreda's Church, Bishop's Hatfield; see monument here [Map]. Baronet Reade of Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire extinct.

On 10th January 1661 Andrew Rutherford 1st Earl Teviot was created 1st Baron Rutherford with special remainder to his heirs and assignees whatsoever, and that under what provisions, restrictions, and conditions the said Lord Rutherford should think fit.

On 23rd January 1661 John Cole 1st Baronet (age 41) was created Baronet Cole of Newland.

On 23rd February 1661 Edward Smythe 1st Baronet (age 41) was created 1st Baronet Smythe.

On 29th September 1679 Compton Reade 1st Baronet (age 54) died. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Shipton-under-Wychwood. His son Edward (age 20) succeeded 2nd Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

Before 25th July 1682 Edward Reade 2nd Baronet (age 23) and Elizabeth Harby Baroness Reade (age 21) were married. She by marriage Lady Reade of Barton in Berkshire. Some sources give the date as 9th June 1684 which is inconsistent with the birth of their first son Winwood Reade 3rd Baronet on 25th July 1682.

On 4th September 1691 Edward Reade 2nd Baronet (age 32) died. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Shipton-under-Wychwood. His son Winwood (age 9) succeeded 3rd Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

On 30th June 1692 Winwood Reade 3rd Baronet (age 9) died. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Shipton-under-Wychwood. His brother Thomas (age 9) succeeded 4th Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

On 25th June 1752 Thomas Reade 4th Baronet (age 69) died. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Shipton-under-Wychwood. His son John (age 31) succeeded 5th Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

On 9th November 1773 John Reade 5th Baronet (age 52) died at Golden Square Soho. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Shipton-under-Wychwood. His son John (age 11) succeeded 6th Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

On 7th November 1789 John Reade 6th Baronet (age 27) died. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Shipton-under-Wychwood. His son John (age 4) succeeded 7th Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

On 6th January 1814 John Chandos Reade 7th Baronet (age 28) and Louisa Murray Lady Reade were married at St James' Church, Piccadilly. She by marriage Lady Reade of Barton in Berkshire. They had five children of whom four predeceased him. One, Emily, described as an imbecile, died 23rd November 1897.

On 14th January 1868 John Chandos Reade 7th Baronet (age 83) died. He was buried at St Philip's Church, Little Rollright. His will makes no mention of any relative, but (to the exclusion of his heir at law) devises the Shipton Court estate and (with trifling exception) all his real and personal estate to Joseph Wakefield, apparently his servant, whom he directs to take his name. The will was declared valid, and pr. 24 June 1868 when the devise took effect. His great nephew Chandos (age 16) succeeded 8th Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

On 11th March 1880 Chandos Stanhope Reade 8th Baronet (age 28) and Emma Elizabeth Conway Griffith were married at St George's Church, Hanover Square. She by marriage Lady Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

On 28th January 1890 Chandos Stanhope Reade 8th Baronet (age 38) died at Meldreth. His first cousin George (age 44) succeeded 9th Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire. Melissa Ray Lady Reade by marriage Lady Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

In 1908 George Compton Reade 9th Baronet (age 62) died. His son George (age 38) succeeded 10th Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

On 30th May 1923 George Franklin Reade 10th Baronet (age 53) died. His son John (age 26) succeeded 11th Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.

On 8th January 1958 John Stanhope Reade 11th Baronet (age 61) died. His brother Clyde (age 51) succeeded 12th Baronet Reade of Barton in Berkshire.
