Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke
Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson.

Calendar of Treasury Warrants 1718 Sep. 7th September 1718. Royal warrant dated Hampton Court to the Attorney or Solicitor General for a great seal for a grant of a salary of 2,000l. a year to Jane, Countess Dowager of Portland, whom we have thought fit to appoint to be Governess to our dearly beloved grandchildren, the Lady Ann, the Lady Amelia and the Lady Carolina, daughters of our most dearly beloved son George Augustus, Prince of Wales: during pleasure: as from March 25 last. King's Warrant Book XXIX, p. 284. On 28th December 1757 Princess Caroline Hanover died.

Bridget Gee: Around 1701 she was born to William Gee. On 9th November 1732 Ralph Pennyman and she were married. On 7th June 1774 she died.

Diana Blackett Lady Wentworth: In 1703 she was born to William Blackett 1st Baronet and Julia Conyers. In 1720 William Wentworth 4th Baronet and she were married at St Paul's Cathedral [Map]. She by marriage Lady Wentworth of West Bretton. In 1742 Diana Blackett Lady Wentworth died.

Colonel Charles Ingram: On 27th March 1696 he was born to Arthur Ingram 3rd Viscount Irvine. On 28th November 1748 Colonel Charles Ingram died.

Henry Ingram 7th Viscount Irvine: On 30th April 1691 he was born to Arthur Ingram 3rd Viscount Irvine. On 3rd May 1728 Henry Ingram 7th Viscount Irvine and Ann Scarborough Viscountess Irvine were married at Finchley. On 30th May 1736 Arthur Ingram 6th Viscount Irvine died. His brother Henry succeeded 7th Viscount Irvine. Ann Scarborough Viscountess Irvine by marriage Viscountess Irvine. On 4th April 1761 Henry Ingram 7th Viscount Irvine died. His brother George succeeded 8th Viscount Irvine.
Ann Scarborough Viscountess Irvine: Around 1692 she was born to Charles Scarborough. On 20th March 1766 she died.
Abbot John Whethamstede’s Chronicle of the Abbey of St Albans
Abbot John Whethamstede's Register aka Chronicle of his second term at the Abbey of St Albans, 1451-1461, is a remarkable text that describes his first-hand experience of the beginning of the Wars of the Roses including the First and Second Battles of St Albans, 1455 and 1461, respectively, their cause, and their consequences, not least on the Abbey itself. His text also includes Loveday, Blore Heath, Northampton, the Act of Accord, Wakefield, and Towton, and ends with the Coronation of King Edward IV. In addition to the events of the Wars of the Roses, Abbot John, or his scribes who wrote the Chronicle, include details in the life of the Abbey such as charters, letters, land exchanges, visits by legates, and disputes, which provide a rich insight into the day-to-day life of the Abbey, and the challenges faced by its Abbot.

Henrietta Scarborough Lady Jenkinson: In 1695 she was born to Charles Scarborough. On or after 4th February 1712 Robert Jenkinson 3rd Baronet and she were married. She by marriage Lady Jenkinson of Walcot in Oxfordshire and of Hawkesbury in Gloucestershire. On 9th August 1731 Charles Eversfield and she were married. She the widow of Robert Jenkinson 3rd Baronet. In 1760 she died.

Anne Fairfax: In 1728 she was born to Colonel William Fairfax of Belvoir. On 19th July 1743 Lawrence Washington and she were married. In 1761 Anne Fairfax died.
