The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Biography of John Thewlis 1762-1846

On 4th April 1762 John Thewlis was born to Joshua Thewlis (age 34) at Holmfirth.

On 16th April 1786 John Thewlis (age 24) and Hannah Hirst (age 22) were married at All Hallows Church, Almondbury.

Hannah Hirst: In 1764 she was born. In 1829 she died at Holmfirth.

In 1804 [his daughter] Betty Thewlis was born to John Thewlis (age 41) and [his wife] Hannah Hirst (age 40) at Holmfirth.

In February 1809 [his father] Joshua Thewlis (age 81) died at Holmfirth.

In 1829 [his wife] Hannah Hirst (age 65) died at Holmfirth.

On 18th April 1846 John Thewlis (age 84) died at Huddersfield.
