In 1618 [his father] William Caulfeild 2nd Baron Caulfeild (age 31) and [his mother] Mary King were married at .
In 1624 William Caulfeild 1st Viscount Charlemont was born to [his father] William Caulfeild 2nd Baron Caulfeild (age 37) and [his mother] Mary King at Dunamon Castle.
In 1642 [his brother] Robert Caulfeild 4th Baron Caulfeild (age 20) died. His brother William (age 18) succeeded 4th Baron Caulfield.
On 6th January 1642 [his brother] Toby Caulfeild 3rd Baron Caulfeild (age 21) was shot and killed by Edmund Boy O'Hugh, foster-brother to Phelim O'Neill (age 38). His brother [his brother] Robert succeeded 3rd Baron Caulfield.
In 1653 William Caulfeild 1st Viscount Charlemont (age 29) and Sarah Moore Viscountess Charlemont (age 21) were married. She by marriage Baroness Caulfield.
On 4th February 1653 Phelim Roe O'Neill of Kinard (age 49) was captured by William Caulfeild 1st Viscount Charlemont (age 29) on an island in Roughan Lough where he had taken refuge. William Caulfeild 1st Viscount Charlemont possibly considered Phelim Roe O'Neill of Kinard was responsible for the death of his father [his father] William Caulfeild 2nd Baron Caulfeild (age 66) with whom Phelim had been dining when captured, imprisoned and, fifteen weeks later, shot.
Around 1655 [his son] William Caulfeild 2nd Viscount Charlemont was born to William Caulfeild 1st Viscount Charlemont (age 31) and [his wife] Sarah Moore Viscountess Charlemont (age 23). He married 11th July 1678 Anne Margetson.
William of Worcester's Chronicle of England
William of Worcester, born around 1415, and died around 1482 was secretary to John Fastolf, the renowned soldier of the Hundred Years War, during which time he collected documents, letters, and wrote a record of events. Following their return to England in 1440 William was witness to major events. Twice in his chronicle he uses the first person: 1. when writing about the murder of Thomas, 7th Baron Scales, in 1460, he writes '… and I saw him lying naked in the cemetery near the porch of the church of St. Mary Overie in Southwark …' and 2. describing King Edward IV's entry into London in 1461 he writes '… proclaimed that all the people themselves were to recognize and acknowledge Edward as king. I was present and heard this, and immediately went down with them into the city'. William’s Chronicle is rich in detail. It is the source of much information about the Wars of the Roses, including the term 'Diabolical Marriage' to describe the marriage of Queen Elizabeth Woodville’s brother John’s marriage to Katherine, Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, he aged twenty, she sixty-five or more, and the story about a paper crown being placed in mockery on the severed head of Richard, 3rd Duke of York.

Around 1656 [his son] Toby Caulfeild of Clone in Kilkenny was born to William Caulfeild 1st Viscount Charlemont (age 32) and [his wife] Sarah Moore Viscountess Charlemont (age 24).
Around 1661 [his daughter] Alice Caulfeild Baroness Carpenter was born to William Caulfeild 1st Viscount Charlemont (age 37) and [his wife] Sarah Moore Viscountess Charlemont (age 29). She married (1) 27th January 1678 John Margetson and had issue (2) 23rd January 1693 George Carpenter 1st Baron Carpenter and had issue.
In Jul or August 1663 [his mother] Mary King died.
In 1665 William Caulfeild 1st Viscount Charlemont (age 41) was created 1st Viscount Charlemont in County Armagh. [his wife] Sarah Moore Viscountess Charlemont (age 33) by marriage Viscountess Charlemont in County Armagh.
In April 1671 William Caulfeild 1st Viscount Charlemont (age 47) died. His son William (age 16) succeeded 2nd Viscount Charlemont in County Armagh, 5th Baron Caulfield.
Around November 1712 [his former wife] Sarah Moore Viscountess Charlemont (age 80) died.
