Jean de Waurin was a French Chronicler, from the Artois region, who was born around 1400, and died around 1474. Waurin’s Chronicle of England, Volume 6, covering the period 1450 to 1471, from which we have selected and translated Chapters relating to the Wars of the Roses, provides a vivid, original, contemporary description of key events some of which he witnessed first-hand, some of which he was told by the key people involved with whom Waurin had a personal relationship.

On 14th October 1690 Richard Power 1st Earl Tyrone (age 60) died in the Tower of London [Map]. His son John (age 25) succeeded 2nd Earl Tyrone.
In 1693 John Power 2nd Earl Tyrone (age 28) died. His brother James (age 26) succeeded 3rd Earl Tyrone.
On 19th August 1704 James Power 3rd Earl Tyrone (age 37) died without male issue. Earl Tyrone extinct.
In 1746 Marcus Beresford 1st Earl Tyrone (age 51) was created 1st Earl Tyrone. Catherine Power Countess Tyrone (age 44) by marriage Countess Tyrone.
In 1542 Conn O'Neill 1st Earl Tyrone (age 62) was created 1st Earl Tyrone. Alice Fitzgerald Countess Tyrone by marriage Countess Tyrone.
