The Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke. Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson. Available at Amazon in eBook and Paperback.

George Seton 5th Lord Seton: he was born to George Seton 4th Lord Seton and Margaret Campbell Lady Seton. Before January 1507 George Seton 5th Lord Seton and Joanna Hepburn Lady Seton were married. She by marriage Lord Seton. She the daughter of Patrick Hepburn 1st Earl Bothwell and Janet Douglas Countess Bothwell. They were third cousin twice removed. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward III of England. On 11th June 1507 George Seton 4th Lord Seton died. His son George succeeded 5th Lord Seton.

On 31st March 1577 Adrian Vanson and Susanna de Colonia were married.

John Maitland 1st Lord Maitland of Thirlestane: Around 1545 he was born to Richard Maitland of Lethington. On or after 16th January 1583, the date of the contract, John Maitland 1st Lord Maitland of Thirlestane and Jean Fleming Countess Cassilis were married. On 3rd October 1595 John Maitland 1st Lord Maitland of Thirlestane died.

Agnes Douglas Countess Argyll: In 1574 she was born to William Douglas 6th Earl Morton and Agnes Leslie Countess Morton at Lochleven Castle, Kinross. In October 1584 Colin Campbell 6th Earl Argyll died. His son Archibald succeeded 7th Earl Argyll. She by marriage Countess Argyll. On 24th July 1592 Archibald Campbell 7th Earl Argyll and she were married. She the daughter of William Douglas 6th Earl Morton and Agnes Leslie Countess Morton. He the son of Colin Campbell 6th Earl Argyll and Agnes Keith Countess Moray and Mar. They were third cousins. On 3rd May 1607 Agnes Douglas Countess Argyll died.

Around 1602 Adrian Vanson died.
