Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough
A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

Paternal Family Tree: Wyntoun aka Seton
In 1414 [his father] William Seton Master of Seton (age 24) and [his step-mother] Janet Dunbar (age 24) were married. She the daughter of George Dunbar 10th Earl March (age 76) and Christina Wyntoun Countess Dunbar. They were first cousin once removed.
Around 1415 George Seton 3rd Lord Seton was born to [his father] William Seton Master of Seton (age 25).
On 17th August 1424 the English forces led by John Lancaster 1st Duke Bedford (age 35) inflicted a significant defeat on the French and Scottish army at the Battle of Verneuil; a second Agincourt. For the English Edmund Hungerford (age 15), Ralph Longford (age 23), John "Old Talbot" Talbot 1st Earl of Shrewsbury (age 41) and Richard Waller (age 29) fought.
On the French and Scottish side Pierre Valois, Archibald Douglas 1st Duke Touraine (age 52), his son James Douglas, [his father] William Seton Master of Seton (age 34), Alexander Home of Home and Dunglas (age 56) were killed
John Stewart 2nd Earl Buchan (age 43) was killed. His brother Robert (age 39) de jure Earl Ross and Earl Buchan although he didn't claim the title since both titles had reverted to the Crown.
Jean Poton Xaintrailles (age 34) fought.
On 17th August 1434 [his grandfather] John Seton 2nd Lord Seton (age 64) died at Seton. His grandson George (age 19) succeeded 3rd Lord Seton.
Before 8th January 1437 George Seton 3rd Lord Seton (age 22) and Margaret Stewart (age 12) were married. She the daughter of John Stewart 2nd Earl Buchan and Elizabeth Douglas Countess Buchan and Orkney.
On 18th September 1439 George Seton 3rd Lord Seton (age 24) was knighted.
Around 1451 [his wife] Margaret Stewart (age 26) died.
On 8th January 1461 George Seton 3rd Lord Seton (age 46) and Christian Murray were married.
Before 14th July 1476 [his son] John Seton Master of Seton died.
In 1478 George Seton 3rd Lord Seton (age 63) died at Blackfriars. His grandson [his grandson] George (age 47) succeeded 4th Lord Seton.
[his son] John Seton Master of Seton was born to George Seton 3rd Lord Seton and Margaret Stewart.
