Biography of John Gordon 11th Earl Sutherland 1525-1567

Around 16th June 1520 [his father] Alexander Gordon (age 15) and Janet Stewart were married. She the daughter of John Stewart 2nd Earl Atholl (age 45) and Janet Campbell Countess Atholl. He the son of [his grandfather] Adam Gordon Earl Sutherland and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Sutherland 10th Countess Sutherland. They were half fifth cousins. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In 1525 John Gordon 11th Earl Sutherland was born to Alexander Gordon (age 20).

In August 1529 James Stewart 1st Earl of Moray (age 30) and [his future wife] Elizabeth Campbell Countess Moray and Sutherland were married. She by marriage Countess Moray.
