On 16th February 1741 Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas was born to Thomas Laurence Dundas 1st Baronet [aged 31].
On 24th May 1764 Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 23] and Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 17] were married. She the daughter of William Fitzwilliam 1st and 3rd Earl Fitzwilliam and Anne Watson Wentworth Countess Fitzwilliam.
On 10th April 1766 [his son] Lawrence Dundas 1st Earl Zetland was born to Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 25] and [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 19] in Westminster [Map]. He married 21st April 1794 Harriet Hale Baroness Dundas and had issue.
In 1767 [his daughter] Anne Dundas was born to Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 25] and [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 20].
In 1770 [his brother-in-law] William Fitzwilliam 4th and 2nd Earl Fitzwilliam [aged 21] and Charlotte Ponsonby Countess Fitzwilliam were married. She the daughter of William Ponsonby 2nd Earl Bessborough [aged 66] and Caroline Cavendish Countess Bessborough. He the son of William Fitzwilliam 1st and 3rd Earl Fitzwilliam and [his mother-in-law] Anne Watson Wentworth Countess Fitzwilliam.
On 18th July 1771 [his son] Charles Lawrence Dundas was born to Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 30] and [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 25]. He married before 25th January 1810 Caroline Beauclerk, daughter of Aubrey Beauclerk 5th Duke St Albans and Catherine Ponsonby Duchess St Albans.
On 12th October 1775 [his son] Thomas Lawrence Dundas was born to Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 34] and [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 29].
On 21st April 1781 [his father] Thomas Laurence Dundas 1st Baronet [aged 71] died. His son Thomas [aged 40] succeeded 2nd Baronet Dundas of Kerse also inheriting Aske Hall North Yorkshire. [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 34] by marriage Lady Dundas of Kerse.
On 30th May 1787 [his daughter] Mary Dundas was born to Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 46] and [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 40]. She married before 1807 her first cousin Charles Wentworth-Fitzwilliam 5th and 3rd Earl Fitzwilliam, son of William Fitzwilliam 4th and 2nd Earl Fitzwilliam and Charlotte Ponsonby Countess Fitzwilliam, and had issue.
William of Worcester's Chronicle of England
William of Worcester, born around 1415, and died around 1482 was secretary to John Fastolf, the renowned soldier of the Hundred Years War, during which time he collected documents, letters, and wrote a record of events. Following their return to England in 1440 William was witness to major events. Twice in his chronicle he uses the first person: 1. when writing about the murder of Thomas, 7th Baron Scales, in 1460, he writes '… and I saw him lying naked in the cemetery near the porch of the church of St. Mary Overie in Southwark …' and 2. describing King Edward IV's entry into London in 1461 he writes '… proclaimed that all the people themselves were to recognize and acknowledge Edward as king. I was present and heard this, and immediately went down with them into the city'. William’s Chronicle is rich in detail. It is the source of much information about the Wars of the Roses, including the term 'Diabolical Marriage' to describe the marriage of Queen Elizabeth Woodville’s brother John’s marriage to Katherine, Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, he aged twenty, she sixty-five or more, and the story about a paper crown being placed in mockery on the severed head of Richard, 3rd Duke of York.

In 1790 [his daughter] Isabella Dundas was born to Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 48] and [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 43]. She married 4th May 1814 John Charles Ramsden, son of John Ramsden 4th Baronet and Louise Ingram Lady Ramsden, and had issue.
On 21st April 1794 [his son] Lawrence Dundas 1st Earl Zetland [aged 28] and [his daughter-in-law] Harriet Hale Baroness Dundas [aged 24] were married at Gainsborough [Map].
In August 1794 Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 53] was created 1st Baron Dundas. [his wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 48] by marriage Baroness Dundas.
On 4th January 1803 the first steamboat, the Charlotte Dundas, first sailing was on the canal in Glasgow with Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 61], who commissioned its construction, and a few of his relatives and friends on board. The boat was designed and built by William Symington and John Allan, respectively, and the engine by the Carron Company.
Before 1807 [his son-in-law] Charles Wentworth-Fitzwilliam 5th and 3rd Earl Fitzwilliam [aged 20] and [his daughter] Mary Dundas [aged 19] were married. He the son of [his brother-in-law] William Fitzwilliam 4th and 2nd Earl Fitzwilliam [aged 58] and Charlotte Ponsonby Countess Fitzwilliam. They were first cousins.
Before 25th January 1810 [his son] Charles Lawrence Dundas [aged 38] and [his daughter-in-law] Caroline Beauclerk [aged 35] were married. She the daughter of Aubrey Beauclerk 5th Duke St Albans and Catherine Ponsonby Duchess St Albans.
On 25th January 1810 [his son] Charles Lawrence Dundas [aged 38] died.
On 4th May 1814 [his son-in-law] John Charles Ramsden [aged 26] and [his daughter] Isabella Dundas [aged 24] were married.
On 14th June 1820 Thomas Dundas 1st Baron Dundas [aged 79] died. His son Lawrence [aged 54] succeeded 2nd Baron Dundas, 3rd Baronet Dundas of Kerse. Harriet Hale Baroness Dundas [aged 50] by marriage Baroness Dundas.
On 11th February 1833 [his former wife] Charlotte Fitzwilliam Baroness Dundas [aged 86] died.
