The QUEEN has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm, dated the afternoon of the 11th day of June 1997, to confer the dignity of a Barony of the United Kingdom for life upon the Right Honourable Henry Paul Guinness Channon [aged 61] by the name, style and title of Baron Kelvedon of Ongar, in the county of Essex. On 27th January 2007 Henry Paul Channon 1st Baron Kelvedon [aged 71] died. Baron Kelvedon of Ongar in Essex extinct since it was created as a life peerage only.
