22nd January 1543. Cap. xl. [o. n. 32]. That, whereas Eliz. Burgh [aged 31], late wife of Sir Thomas Burgh [deceased], dec., son and heir apparent of Thomas lord Burgh [aged 55], lived in adultery during her husband's lifetime, and had children, Margaret, Humfrey, and Arthur by other persons than her husband, as she has partly confessed, these children are to be taken for bastards.

22nd January 1543. Cap. xliii. [o. n. 39]. Whereas lady Anne [aged 26], wife of Sir William Parre lord Parre [aged 31], continued in adultery notwithstanding admonition, and, finally, two years past, left his company and has since had a child begotten in adultery, that the said child and all future children she may have shall be held bastards.
