On 19th February 1960 Prince Andrew Windsor 1st Duke of York was born to Philip Mountbatten Duke Edinburgh [aged 38] and Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom [aged 33] at Belgian Suite Buckingham Palace. He was baptised on 8th April 1960 by Archbishop Geoffrey Fisher [aged 72] at the Music Room, Buckingham Palace.
On 21st February 1960 Edwina Ashley Countess Mountbatten Burma [aged 58] died in Jesselton, North Borneo [now Kota Kinabalu, Sabah]. She was buried at sea off the coast of Portsmouth from HMS Wakeful on 25 February 1960. Archbishop of Canterbury Archbishop Geoffrey Fisher [aged 72] officiated. Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru had the Indian Navy frigate INS Trishul, already stationed in the city for repair for weeks, to escort the Wakeful and cast a wreath.
