After 1605. The current Blickling Hall, Norfolk [Map] was built by Robert Lyminge after 1605 for Henry Hobart 1st Baronet (age 45). The estate passed through the Hobart family to John Hobart 2nd Earl Buckinghamshire. It then passed to his daughter Caroline Hobart Baroness Suffield who was married to William Assheton Harbord 2nd Baron Suffield. The couple did not have any issue. The estate then passed to Caroline's great-nephew William Schomberg Kerr 8th Marquess Lothian; grandson son of her sister [his grandmother] Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore.
Caroline Hobart Baroness Suffield: She was born to John Hobart 2nd Earl Buckinghamshire and Mary Anne Drury Countess Buckinghamshire 1740-1769. On 04 Feb 1810 Harbord Morden aka Harbord 1st Baron Suffield (age 76) died. His son William Assheton Harbord 2nd Baron Suffield (age 43) succeeded 2nd Baron Suffield, 3rd Baronet Harbord of Suffield in Norfolk. She by marriage Baroness Suffield. Before 07 Feb 1821 William Assheton Harbord 2nd Baron Suffield (age 54) and she were married. She the daughter of John Hobart 2nd Earl Buckinghamshire and Mary Anne Drury Countess Buckinghamshire 1740-1769. They were half second cousins. In 1850 she died.
On 27 Apr 1824 [his grandfather] William Kerr 6th Marquess Lothian (age 60) died at Richmond, Surrey [Map]. His son [his father] John Kerr 7th Marquess Lothian 1794-1841 (age 30) succeeded 7th Marquess Lothian.
In 1831 [his father] John Kerr 7th Marquess Lothian 1794-1841 (age 36) and [his mother] Cecil Chetwynd-Talbot Marchioness Lothian 1808-1877 (age 22) were married. She by marriage Marchioness Lothian. She the daughter of Charles Chetwynd-Talbot 2nd Earl Talbot (age 53) and Frances Thomasine Lambart Countess Talbot. He the son of William Kerr 6th Marquess Lothian and Harriet Hobart Viscountess Belmore.
In 1832 William Schomberg Kerr 8th Marquess Lothian was born to John Kerr 7th Marquess Lothian 1794-1841 (age 37) and Cecil Chetwynd-Talbot Marchioness Lothian 1808-1877 (age 23).
On 14 Nov 1841 [his father] John Kerr 7th Marquess Lothian 1794-1841 (age 47) died at Blickling Hall, Norfolk [Map]. His son William Schomberg Kerr 8th Marquess Lothian (age 9) succeeded 8th Marquess Lothian. He inherited the Blickling, Norfolk estate and made significant changes.
On 12 Aug 1857 William Schomberg Kerr 8th Marquess Lothian (age 25) and Constance Harriet Mahonesa Talbot Marchioness Lothian 1836-1901 (age 21) were married. She by marriage Marchioness Lothian. She the daughter of Henry John Chetwynd-Talbot 3rd Earl Talbot 18th Earl of Shrewsbury (age 53) and Sarah Elizabeth Beresford Countess Talbot Shrewsbury Waterford 1807-1884 (age 49). He the son of John Kerr 7th Marquess Lothian 1794-1841 and Cecil Chetwynd-Talbot Marchioness Lothian 1808-1877 (age 49). They were first cousins.
In 1870 William Schomberg Kerr 8th Marquess Lothian (age 38) died without issue. His brother [his brother] Schomberg Henry Kerr Kerr 9th Marquess Lothian 1833-1900 (age 36) succeeded 9th Marquess Lothian. Victoria Alexandrina Montagu-Douglas-Scott Marchioness Lothian 1844-1938 (age 25) by marriage Marchioness Lothian. Monument at St Andrew's Church, Blickling [Map] sculpted by George Frederick Watts (age 52) in 1878.
On 10 Oct 1901 [his former wife] Constance Harriet Mahonesa Talbot Marchioness Lothian 1836-1901 (age 65) died without issue at Blickling Hall, Norfolk [Map].
