On 27 Jun 1674 Thomas Osborne 1st Duke Leeds (age 42) was created 1st Earl of Danby when he surrendered his Scottish Viscount Osborne to his third son Peregrine Osborne (age 15). He, Thomas, was on his mother's side a great-nephew of the previous Earl of Danby who was brother to Anne's mother Eleanor Danvers.
On 26 Jul 1712 Thomas Osborne 1st Duke Leeds (age 80) died. His son Peregrine Osborne 2nd Duke Leeds (age 53) succeeded 2nd Duke Leeds, 2nd Earl of Danby, 2nd Viscount Osborne, 2nd Viscount Latimer, 2nd Baron Osborne of Kinderton, 3rd Baronet Osborne of Kiveton.
