Biography of Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran 1734-1809

In 1684 Robert Doyne (age 33) and [his mother] Jane Saunders were married.

In 1731 [his father] Arthur Saunders Gore 1st Earl Arran (age 28) and [his mother] Jane Saunders were married. They had three sons and two daughters.

On 25th July 1734 Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran was born to [his father] Arthur Saunders Gore 1st Earl Arran (age 31) and [his mother] Jane Saunders.

On 10th February 1742 [his grandfather] Arthur Gore 2nd Baronet (age 57) died. His son [his father] Arthur Gore (age 39) succeeded 3rd Baronet Gore of Newtown in County Mayo.

On 14th July 1760 Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 25) and Catherine Annesley were married. He the son of Arthur Saunders Gore 1st Earl Arran (age 57) and Jane Saunders.

On 20th July 1761 [his son] Arthur Saunders Gore 3rd Earl Arran was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 26) and [his wife] Catherine Annesley. He married 1787 Mary Tyrrell 3rd Countess Arran, daughter of John Tyrrell 5th Baronet.

On 12th April 1762 [his father] Arthur Saunders Gore 1st Earl Arran (age 59) was created 1st Earl Arran.

In April 1763 [his daughter] Anne Jane Gore Marchioness Abercorn was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 28) and [his wife] Catherine Annesley. She married 1800 John Hamilton 1st Marquess Abercorn.

In September 1766 [his daughter] Catherine Charlotte Gore Baroness Carbery was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 32) and [his wife] Catherine Annesley. She married her first cousin 25th January 1783 John Evans 6th Baron Carbery.

On 16th November 1767 [his son] William John Gore was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 33) and [his wife] Catherine Annesley. He married before 23rd November 1801 Caroline Hales, daughter of Thomas Hales 4th Baronet, and had issue.

Catherine Annesley: she was born to William Annesley 1st Viscount Glerawly and Anne Beresford. On 14th July 1760 Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran and she were married. He the son of Arthur Saunders Gore 1st Earl Arran and Jane Saunders. On 23rd November 1770 Catherine Annesley died.

In 1770 [his daughter] Elizabeth Araminta Gore was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 35) and [his wife] Catherine Annesley. She married in or before 1787 Henry Monck and had issue.

On 2nd September 1770 [his father-in-law] William Annesley 1st Viscount Glerawly (age 60) died. His son [his brother-in-law] Francis (age 29) succeeded 2nd Viscount Glerawly of County Fermanagh, 2nd Baron Annesley of Castle Wellan in County Down.

On 23rd November 1770 [his wife] Catherine Annesley died.

In 1771 Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 36) and Anne Knight Countess of Arran were married. He the son of Arthur Saunders Gore 1st Earl Arran (age 68) and Jane Saunders.

After 1771 [his daughter] Maria Louisa Gore was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 36) and [his wife] Anne Knight Countess of Arran. She married 19th January 1800 James Know-Gore and had issue.

On 17th April 1773 [his father] Arthur Saunders Gore 1st Earl Arran (age 70) died. His son Arthur (age 38) succeeded 2nd Earl Arran, 2nd Viscount Sudley of Castle Gore in County Mayo, 2nd Baron Saunders of Deeps in County Wexford, 4th Baronet Gore of Newtown in County Mayo. [his wife] Anne Knight Countess of Arran by marriage Countess Arran.

In 1774 [his son] Reverend George Gore was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 39) and [his wife] Anne Knight Countess of Arran. He married (1) in or before 1819 Anne Burrowes (2) 1820 Sophia Ribton (3) 1823 Maria m Isaac.

The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

In February 1781 Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 46) and Elizabeth Underwood Countess of Arran were married. She by marriage Countess Arran. He the son of Arthur Saunders Gore 1st Earl Arran and Jane Saunders.

On 25th January 1783 [his son-in-law] John Evans 6th Baron Carbery (age 17) and [his daughter] Catherine Charlotte Gore Baroness Carbery (age 16) were married. She the daughter of Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 48) and [his former wife] Catherine Annesley. They were first cousins.

Around 1785 [his daughter] Cecilia Gore aka Underwood Duchess of Inverness was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 50) and [his wife] Elizabeth Underwood Countess of Arran. She married 2nd May 1831 Prince Augustus Frederick Hanover 1st Duke Sussex, son of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland and Charlotte Mecklenburg Strelitz Queen Consort England.

Around 1786 [his daughter] Isabella Gore was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 51) and [his wife] Elizabeth Underwood Countess of Arran. She married 1816 Charles Sholto Douglas.

In or before 1787 [his son-in-law] Henry Monck and [his daughter] Elizabeth Araminta Gore (age 16) were married. She the daughter of Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 52) and [his former wife] Catherine Annesley.

In 1787 [his son] Arthur Saunders Gore 3rd Earl Arran (age 25) and [his daughter-in-law] Mary Tyrrell 3rd Countess Arran (age 20) were married. He the son of Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 52) and [his former wife] Catherine Annesley.

On 26th December 1793 [his son] Charles Stephen Gore was born to Arthur Saunders Gore 2nd Earl Arran (age 59) and [his wife] Elizabeth Underwood Countess of Arran. He married 1824 Sarah Rachel Fraser and had issue.
