He the son of Fulk "Réchin" Anjou 4th Count Anjou and Bertrade Montfort Queen Consort France [aged 40]. They were third cousin twice removed.

Around 1111 Matilda of Anjou was born to Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 22] and Ermengarde of Maine Countess of Anjou.

In 1119 William Adelin Duke Normandy [aged 15] and Matilda of Anjou [aged 8] were married. She the daughter of Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 30] and Ermengarde of Maine Countess of Anjou. He the son of King Henry I "Beauclerc" England [aged 51] and Edith aka Matilda Dunkeld Queen Consort England. They were fourth cousin once removed.

This year went [her husband] William [aged 15], the son of [her father-in-law] King Henry [aged 51] and [her future sister-in-law] Queen Matilda [aged 16], into Normandy [Map] to his father, and there was given to him, and wedded to wife, the daughter [aged 8] of the Earl of Anjou [aged 30].

In June 1119 [her illegitimate brother-in-law] Robert Normandy 1st Earl Gloucester [aged 20] and Mabel Fitzhamon Countess Gloucester were married at Lisieux, Calvados, Basse Normandie. She by marriage Countess Gloucester. He the illegitmate son of [her father-in-law] King Henry I "Beauclerc" England [aged 51] and Daughter Gay.

Before 1120 Routrou "The Great" Chateaudun III Count Perche [aged 39] and [her illegitimate sister-in-law] Matilda Fitzroy Countess Perche were married. She by marriage Countess Perche. She the illegitmate daughter of [her father-in-law] King Henry I "Beauclerc" England [aged 51]. He the son of Geoffrey Chateaudun II Count Mortain III Count Perche and Beatrix de Ramerupt Montdidier Countess Mortain and Perche.

Around August 1120 [her husband] William Adelin Duke Normandy [aged 16] was appointed Duke Normandy.

25th November 1120-Sinking of The White Ship

On 25th November 1120 the White Ship left Barfleur in north-west Normandy, with a party of young Normans. [her father-in-law] King Henry I "Beauclerc" England [aged 52] had left earlier on another ship. A mile out the White Ship foundered on a submerged rock. Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. 1121. This year came the [her father] Earl of Anjou [aged 32] from Jerusalem into his land; and soon after sent hither to fetch his daughter [aged 10], who had been given to wife to [her former husband] William, the [her former father-in-law] king's [aged 53] son.

In 1123 [her brother-in-law] William Clito Count Flanders [aged 20] and [her sister] Sibylla Anjou Countess Essex [aged 11] were married. She the daughter of [her father] Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 34] and [her mother] Ermengarde of Maine Countess of Anjou. On 2nd June 1129 Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 40] and Melisende Queen of Jerusalem [aged 24] were married at Jerusalem [Map]. She by marriage Countess Anjou. Her father [aged 54] had written to Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem requesting the marriage since he had no male heirs. She the daughter of Baldwin II King Jerusalem. He the son of Fulk "Réchin" Anjou 4th Count Anjou and Bertrade Montfort Queen Consort France.

On 21st August 1131 Baldwin II King Jerusalem [aged 56] died. [her father] Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 42] succeeded King Jerusalem. [her step-mother] Melisende Queen of Jerusalem [aged 26] by marriage Queen Consort Jerusalem.

After 1132 [her brother-in-law] Thierry Count Flanders [aged 33] and [her sister] Sibylla Anjou Countess Essex [aged 20] were married. She by marriage Countess Flanders. She the daughter of [her father] Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 43] and [her mother] Ermengarde of Maine Countess of Anjou. In 1143 [her half-brother] Baldwin III King Jerusalem [aged 13] was appointed III King Jerusalem.

On 13th November 1143 [her father] Fulk "Young" King Jerusalem [aged 54] died in a hunting accident. His wife [her step-mother] Melisende Queen of Jerusalem [aged 38] continued to reign in her own right with their son [her half-brother] Baldwin III King Jerusalem [aged 13].

In 1144 [her brother] Geoffrey Plantagenet Duke Normandy [aged 30] by conquest Duke Normandy. [her sister-in-law] Empress Matilda [aged 41] by marriage Duchess Normandy.

In 1150 Matilda of Anjou [aged 39] was appointed Abbot Fontevraud.

On 7th September 1151 [her brother] Geoffrey Plantagenet Duke Normandy [aged 38] died at Château du Loir [Map]. He was buried at St Julien's Cathedral [Map].

Around 5th June 1152 Eleanor of Aquitaine [aged 30] visited Fontevraud Abbey [Map] where she met Abbess Matilda [aged 41] (her husband's [her nephew] Henry's [aged 19] aunt by marriage - Abbess Matilda had married William Adelin brother of his mother Empress Matilda [aged 50] who had died in the White Ship Disaster).

In 1154 Matilda of Anjou [aged 43] died.
