On 24th June 1295 King Edward I of England (age 56) created new baronies through writs for summons to his 36th Parliament

John Montfort 1st Baron Montfort (age 31) was created 1st Baron Montfort. Alice Plaunche Baroness Montfort by marriage Baroness Montfort.

Walter Fauconberg 1st Baron Fauconberg (age 75) was created 1st Baron Fauconberg.

Thomas Furnival 1st Baron Furnivall (age 35) was created 1st Baron Furnivall. Joan Despencer Baroness Furnivall (age 37) by marriage Baroness Furnivall.

Robert Fitzwalter 1st Baron Fitzwalter (age 48) was created 1st Baron Fitzwalter. Eleanor Ferrers Baroness Fitzwalter by marriage Baroness Fitzwalter.

Ralph Basset 1st Baron Basset Drayton (age 31) was created 1st Baron Basset Drayton. Hawise Grey Baroness Basset Drayton (age 40) by marriage Baroness Basset Drayton.

Around 4th October 1300 John Wake 1st Baron Wake of Liddell (age 32) died. His son Thomas (age 3) succeeded 2nd Baron Wake of Liddell.

After 1305 Thomas Wake 2nd Baron Wake of Liddell (age 8) and Blanche Plantagenet Baroness Wake Liddell were married. She by marriage Baroness Wake of Liddell. She the daughter of Henry Plantagenet 3rd Earl of Leicester 3rd Earl Lancaster (age 24) and Maud Chaworth (age 22). They were half third cousin once removed. He a great x 3 grandson of King John of England. She a great granddaughter of King Henry III of England.

On 31st May 1349 Thomas Wake 2nd Baron Wake of Liddell (age 52) died. He was buried at Haltemprice Priory [Map]. His sister Margaret (age 52) succeeded 3rd Baroness Wake of Liddell.

Black Death Plague

On 29th September 1349 Margaret Wake Countess Kent (age 52) died of plague. Her son John (age 19) succeeded 4th Baron Wake of Liddell and inherited her dower lands and the estates she had inherited from her brother Thomas Wake 2nd Baron Wake of Liddell.

On 26th December 1352 John Plantagenet 3rd Earl Kent (age 22) died. He was buried at Greyfriars Church, Winchester [Map]. Earl Kent extinct. His sister Joan (age 24) succeeded 5th Baroness Wake of Liddell. Some source suggest she also succeeded as 4th Countess of Kent but this is inconsistent with 1. her husband being created Earl of Kent as a new creation, and 2. her son not succeeding to the original Earldom?

On 7th August 1385 Joan "Fair Maid of Kent" Princess Wales (age 56) died at Wallingford Castle [Map]. She was buried at Blackfriars Friary, Stamford [Map] beside her first husband Thomas Holland 1st Earl Kent. Her son Thomas (age 35) succeeded 6th Baron Wake of Liddell.

On 25th April 1397 Thomas Holland 2nd Earl Kent (age 47) died. He was buried in Bourne Abbey, Lincolnshire [Map]. His son Thomas (age 23) succeeded 3rd Earl Kent, 2nd Baron Holand, 7th Baron Wake of Liddell. Joan Stafford Countess Kent (age 19) by marriage Countess Kent.

Epiphany Rising

On 7th January 1400 at Cirencester, Gloucestershire [Map] Ralph Lumley 1st Baron Lumley (age 40) was beheaded by the townspeople following an unsuccessful attempt to seize the town. Baron Lumley forfeit.

Thomas Holland 1st Duke Surrey (age 26) was beheaded. He had to forfeit the honours and estates he had gained after the arrests of Gloucester and Arundel: Duke Surrey extinct. He retained those he had received before: His brother Edmund (age 16) succeeded 4th Earl Kent, 3rd Baron Holand, 8th Baron Wake of Liddell. He was buried, or re-buried, at his foundation Mount Grace Priory, North Yorkshire [Map].

John Montagu 3rd Earl Salisbury (age 50) was captured, tried and beheaded. Earl Salisbury, Baron Montagu, Baron Montagu, Baron Monthermer forfeit.

Bernard Brocas (age 46) was captured.

Battle of Île de Bréhat

On 15th September 1408 Edmund Holland 4th Earl Kent (age 24) was killed at Île de Bréhat. He was buried in Bourne Abbey, Lincolnshire [Map]. Earl Kent extinct. Baron Holand, Baron Wake of Liddell abeyant. See Walsingham.
