In 1481 [his daughter] Ellice Butler was born to Piers "Red" Butler 8th Earl Ormonde 1st Earl Ossory (age 14) and [his future wife] Margaret Fitzgerald Countess Ormonde and Ossory.
In 1485 Piers "Red" Butler 8th Earl Ormonde 1st Earl Ossory (age 18) and Margaret Fitzgerald Countess Ormonde and Ossory were married. She the daughter of Gerald Fitzgerald 8th Earl of Kildare (age 28) and Alice Fitzeustace Countess Kildare. They were half third cousin twice removed.
On 16th April 1487 [his father] James Butler died.
On 17th July 1497 James Ormond was murdered by Piers "Red" Butler 8th Earl Ormonde 1st Earl Ossory (age 30).

In 1523 [his daughter] Helen Butler was born to Piers "Red" Butler 8th Earl Ormonde 1st Earl Ossory (age 56) and [his wife] Margaret Fitzgerald Countess Ormonde and Ossory.
In 1528 [his daughter] Joan Butler was born to Piers "Red" Butler 8th Earl Ormonde 1st Earl Ossory (age 61) and [his wife] Margaret Fitzgerald Countess Ormonde and Ossory.
On 18th February 1528 Piers "Red" Butler 8th Earl Ormonde 1st Earl Ossory (age 61) resigned their claim to the Ormonde inheritance since King Henry VIII of England and Ireland (age 36) wanted the titles for Thomas Boleyn 1st Earl Wiltshire and Ormonde (age 51) to whom they were subsequently granted.
After 18th February 1528 Piers "Red" Butler 8th Earl Ormonde 1st Earl Ossory (age 61) was created 1st Earl Ossory. [his wife] Margaret Fitzgerald Countess Ormonde and Ossory by marriage Countess Ossory.
In 1530 [his daughter] Ellice Butler (age 49) died.

The Deeds of King Henry V, or in Latin Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

Has drawn a proviso for the surety of the King, the Queen (age 34), and the Earl of Wiltshire (age 58), &c., and inserted it in the end of the Act that the Earl of Ossory (age 68) desires to have pass, because if it were in a schedule it might be craftily withdrawn. Sends the Acts, with the commission to the Deputy for holding Parliament after the old custom. Sends also a copy of the proviso to the Earl of Wiltshire. Has drawn up the commission for the Deputy only, else it might take away part of his reputation among the people. Desires him to report to the King the number of Acts annexed. Has also made two patents for barons for Sir Richard Power and Thomas Ewstace; and, hearing from Cowley that the old course is to have letters from the Chancery here in England, has sealed them, and sends them to Cromwell.

On 26th August 1539 Piers "Red" Butler 8th Earl Ormonde 1st Earl Ossory (age 72) died. His son [his son] James (age 38) succeeded 9th Earl Ormonde, 2nd Earl Ossory. [his daughter-in-law] Joan Fitzgerald Countess Ormonde and Ossory (age 30) by marriage Countess Ormonde, Countess Ossory.
