On 13th June 1636 George Gordon 1st Marquess Huntly [aged 74] died. His succeeded son George Gordon 2nd Marquess Huntly [aged 44] succeeded 2nd Marquess Huntly, 7th Earl Huntley. Anna Campbell Marchioness Huntly by marriage Marchioness Huntly.

In March 1649 George Gordon 2nd Marquess Huntly [aged 57] died. His succeeded son Lewis Gordon 3rd Marquess Huntly [aged 23] succeeded 3rd Marquess Huntly, 8th Earl Huntley.

In 1653 Lewis Gordon 3rd Marquess Huntly [aged 27] died. His succeeded son George Gordon 1st Duke Gordon [aged 10] succeeded 4th Marquess Huntly, 9th Earl Huntley.

In October 1676 George Gordon 1st Duke Gordon [aged 33] and Elizabeth Howard Duchess Gordon were married. Elizabeth Howard Duchess Gordon by marriage Marchioness Huntly. She the daughter of Henry Howard 6th Duke of Norfolk [aged 48] and Jane Bickerton Duchess Norfolk [aged 33]. He the son of Lewis Gordon 3rd Marquess Huntly. They were third cousins.

On 7th December 1716 George Gordon 1st Duke Gordon [aged 73] died. His succeeded son Alexander Gordon 2nd Duke Gordon [aged 38] succeeded 2nd Duke Gordon, 5th Marquess Huntly, 10th Earl Huntley. Henrietta Mordaunt Duchess Gordon by marriage Duchess Gordon.

On 28th November 1728 Alexander Gordon 2nd Duke Gordon [aged 50] died. His succeeded son Cosmo George Gordon 3rd Duke Gordon [aged 8] succeeded 3rd Duke Gordon, 6th Marquess Huntly, 11th Earl Huntley.

On 5th August 1752 Cosmo George Gordon 3rd Duke Gordon [aged 32] died. His succeeded son Alexander [aged 9] succeeded 4th Duke Gordon, 7th Marquess Huntly, 12th Earl Huntley.

The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.

On 17th June 1827 Alexander Gordon 4th Duke Gordon [aged 83] died. His succeeded son George [aged 57] succeeded 5th Duke Gordon, 8th Marquess Huntly, 13th Earl Huntley, 13th Baron Mordaunt. Elizabeth Brodie Duchess Gordon [aged 32] by marriage Duchess Gordon.

On 28th May 1836 George Gordon 5th Duke Gordon [aged 66] died without legitimate issue at Belgrave Square, Belgravia. Duke Gordon, Baron Mordaunt extinct. His succeeded fourth cousin once removed George Gordon 9th Marquess Huntly [aged 74] succeeded 9th Marquess Huntly, 14th Earl Huntley.

On 17th June 1853 George Gordon 9th Marquess Huntly [aged 91] died. His succeeded son Charles [aged 61] succeeded 10th Marquess Huntly, 15th Earl Huntley, 6th Earl Aboyne. Maria Antoinetta Pegus Marchioness Huntly [aged 32] by marriage Marchioness Huntly.

On 18th September 1863 Charles Gordon 10th Marquess Huntly [aged 71] died. His succeeded son Charles Gordon 11th Marquess Huntly [aged 16] succeeded 11th Marquess Huntly, 16th Earl Huntley, 7th Earl Aboyne.

On 14th July 1869 Charles Gordon 11th Marquess Huntly [aged 22] and Amy Brooks Marchioness Huntly were married. She by marriage Marchioness Huntly. He the son of Charles Gordon 10th Marquess Huntly and Maria Antoinetta Pegus Marchioness Huntly [aged 48].

On 26th June 1922 Charles Gordon 11th Marquess Huntly [aged 75] and Charlotte Jane Fallon Marchioness of Huntly were married. She by marriage Marchioness Huntly. He the son of Charles Gordon 10th Marquess Huntly and Maria Antoinetta Pegus Marchioness Huntly.

On 20th February 1937 Charles Gordon 11th Marquess Huntly [aged 89] died. His succeeded great nephew Douglas Charles Lindsey Gordon 12th Marquess Huntly [aged 29] succeeded 12th Marquess Huntly, 17th Earl Huntley, 8th Earl Aboyne.

In 1987 Douglas Charles Lindsey Gordon 12th Marquess Huntly [aged 79] died. His succeeded son Granville Charles Gomer Gordon 13th Marquess Huntly [aged 42] succeeded 13th Marquess Huntly, 18th Earl Huntley, 9th Earl Aboyne.
