She married 6th April 1771 Charles Howard 11th Duke of Norfolk, son of Charles Howard 10th Duke of Norfolk and Catherine Brockholes Duchess Norfolk.
On 6th April 1771 Charles Howard 11th Duke of Norfolk [aged 25] and Frances Scudamore Duchess Norfolk [aged 21] were married. She by marriage Duchess Norfolk. Shortly after their marriage she exhibited signs of mental instability and spent the rest of her life confined to Holme Lacy House, Herefordshire [Map]. He the son of Charles Howard 10th Duke of Norfolk [aged 50] and Catherine Brockholes Duchess Norfolk [aged 52].
The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.

After a prolonged legal battle Edwyn Francis Scudamore-Stanhope 2nd Baronet [aged 26] inherited Holme Lacy House, Herefordshire [Map]. He being a descendant of Mary Scudamore Lady Bridges, daughter of James Scudamore, who married Giles Brydges 1st Baronet: John Brydges 2nd Baronet, James Brydges 8th Baron Chandos. James Brydges 1st Duke Chandos. John Brydges to Catherine Brydges who married Edwyn Francis Stanhope and were the parents of Henry Edwin Stanhope 1st Baronet who was the father of Edwyn Francis Scudamore-Stanhope 2nd Baronet.
On 15th February 1900 Edwyn Scudamore Stanhope 10th Earl of Chesterfield [aged 45] and Enid Edith Wilson Countess Chesterfield [aged 21] were married at St Mark's Church North Audley Street. She by marriage Countess Chesterfield. They initially lived at Holme Lacy House, Herefordshire [Map]. The difference in their ages was 24 years. He the son of Henry Edwyn Chandos Scudamore Stanhope 9th Earl of Chesterfield and Dorothea Hay Countess Chesterfield [aged 72].
In 1902 Edwyn Scudamore Stanhope 10th Earl of Chesterfield [aged 47] sold the contents of Holme Lacy House, Herefordshire [Map]. He and his wife moved to Beningbrough Hall, North Yorkshire which had been given to them as a wedding present by her father Charles Henry Wilson 1st Baron Nunburnholme [aged 68].
In 1909 Edwyn Scudamore Stanhope 10th Earl of Chesterfield [aged 54] sold Holme Lacy House, Herefordshire [Map].

On 24th January 1933 Edwyn Scudamore Stanhope 10th Earl of Chesterfield [aged 78] died without issue. He was buried at St Cuthbert's Church, Holme Lacy [Map]. His brother Henry [aged 77] succeeded 11th Earl Chesterfield, 11th Baron Stanhope of Shelford in Nottinghamshire, 5th Baronet Stanhope of Stanwell.
