On 21st May 1749 Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet was born to William ffolkes1700-1773 [aged 48] and Mary Browne [aged 31].

On 8th April 1773 [his mother] Mary Browne [aged 55] died.

On 10th April 1773 [his father] William ffolkes1700-1773 [aged 72] died.

Before 1777 Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet [aged 27] and Fanny Turner were married.

In April 1777 [his daughter] Fanny Mary ffolkes was born to Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet [aged 27] and [his wife] Fanny Turner. She married 28th May 1802 Gilbert Hervey West.

On 30th August 1786 [his son] William Browne ffolkes 2nd Baronet was born to Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet [aged 37] and [his wife] Fanny Turner. He married in or before 13th January 1820 Charlotte Philippa Browne and had issue.

On 28th May 1802 [his son-in-law] Gilbert Hervey West [aged 21] and [his daughter] Fanny Mary ffolkes [aged 25] were married.

Abbot John Whethamstede’s Chronicle of the Abbey of St Albans

Abbot John Whethamstede's Register aka Chronicle of his second term at the Abbey of St Albans, 1451-1461, is a remarkable text that describes his first-hand experience of the beginning of the Wars of the Roses including the First and Second Battles of St Albans, 1455 and 1461, respectively, their cause, and their consequences, not least on the Abbey itself. His text also includes Loveday, Blore Heath, Northampton, the Act of Accord, Wakefield, and Towton, and ends with the Coronation of King Edward IV. In addition to the events of the Wars of the Roses, Abbot John, or his scribes who wrote the Chronicle, include details in the life of the Abbey such as charters, letters, land exchanges, visits by legates, and disputes, which provide a rich insight into the day-to-day life of the Abbey, and the challenges faced by its Abbot.

In 1813 [his wife] Fanny Turner died.

In April 1813 [his daughter] Fanny Mary ffolkes [aged 36] died.

On 6th March 1869 [his granddaughter] Fanny Anna West [aged 43] died.

On 16th November 1867 [his grandson] William John Browne ffolkes [aged 47] died.

Fanny Mary ffolkes: In April 1777 she was born to Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet and Fanny Turner. On 28th May 1802 Gilbert Hervey West and she were married.

Fanny Anna West: In 1826 she was born to Edward West and Lucretia Georgiana ffolkes at Bombay, India. Before 6th March 1869 Lieutenant Colonel Robert Gregory Wale and she were married.

William John Browne ffolkes: On 13th January 1820 he was born to William Browne ffolkes 2nd Baronet and Charlotte Philippa Browne.

In or before 13th January 1820 [his son] William Browne ffolkes 2nd Baronet [aged 33] and [his daughter-in-law] Charlotte Philippa Browne [aged 21] were married.

On 11th December 1821 Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet [aged 72] died. His son William [aged 35] succeeded 2nd Baronet ffolkes of Hillington Hall in Norfolk.

26th August 1822 [his son-in-law] Edward West and Lucretia Georgiana ffolkes were married at St Marylebone Church. She the daughter of his guardian and uncle Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet.

[his daughter] Anna Martina ffolkes was born to Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet.

[his daughter] Lucretia Georgiana ffolkes was born to Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet and Fanny Turner. She married 26th August 1822 Edward West and had issue.

Edward West was born to John Balchen West. His parents died young so he was brought up by his uncle Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet. He married 26th August 1822 Lucretia Georgiana ffolkes, daughter of Martin ffolkes 1st Baronet and Fanny Turner, and had issue.
