Francis Hartwell 1st Baronet 1757-1831

Paternal Family Tree: Hartwell

In 1792 Francis Hartwell 1st Baronet recommissioned HMS Thetis, a 38-gun fifth-rate frigate, and escorted a convoy to St. Helena after which he captured two French merchantmen, unfortunately losing one back to the French. When Thetis was paid off the following year he retired from active service.

On 15th February 1757 Francis Hartwell 1st Baronet was born to Captain Broderick Hartwell of Dale Hall in Essex.

In 1781 Francis Hartwell 1st Baronet [aged 23] and Anna-Charlotta-Maria were married at St Anne's Church, Soho [Map].

On 12th February 1783 [his son] Reverend Houlton Hartwell was born to Francis Hartwell 1st Baronet [aged 25] and [his wife] Anna-Charlotta-Maria. He married 29th February 1812 Ruth Ball and had issue.

In 1808 Francis Hartwell 1st Baronet [aged 50] was appointed Deputy Comptroller of the Navy.

On 27th January 1812 Francis Hartwell 1st Baronet [aged 54] and Louisa Aldridge [aged 35] were married. They had a daughter.

On 29th February 1812 [his son] Reverend Houlton Hartwell [aged 29] and [his daughter-in-law] Ruth Ball [aged 18] were married. They had four children.

Around 28th February 1819 [his son] Reverend Houlton Hartwell [aged 36] died.

On 28th June 1831 Francis Hartwell 1st Baronet [aged 74] died. His grandson Broderick [aged 17] succeeded 2nd Baronet Hartwell of Dale Hall in Essex.
