Before 1420 Richard Hankford [aged 22] and Elizabeth Fitzwarin 8th Baroness Fitzwarin [aged 16] were married.

In 1423 [his daughter] Thomasine Hankford 9th Baroness Fitzwarin was born to Richard Hankford [aged 26] and [his wife] Elizabeth Fitzwarin 8th Baroness Fitzwarin [aged 20]. She married before 25th October 1445 William Bourchier Baron Fitzwarin, son of William Bourchier 1st Count of Eu and Anne of Gloucester Plantagenet Countess Eu and Stafford, and had issue.

Around 1427 [his brother-in-law] Fulk Fitzwarin 7th Baron Fitzwarin [aged 23] died. His sister [his wife] Elizabeth [aged 24] succeeded 8th Baroness Fitzwarin.

In or after 1427 [his former wife] Elizabeth Fitzwarin 8th Baroness Fitzwarin [deceased] died. Her daughter Thomasine [aged 4] succeeded 9th Baroness Fitzwarin.

Around September 1429 Richard Hankford [aged 32] was knighted at St Albans, Hertfordshire [Map].

Before 1431 Richard Hankford [aged 33] and Anne Montagu Duchess Exeter [aged 30] were married. She the daughter of John Montagu 3rd Earl Salisbury and Maud Francis Countess of Salisbury.

Around 1431 [his daughter] Anne Hankford Countess Ormonde was born to Richard Hankford [aged 34] and [his wife] Anne Montagu Duchess Exeter [aged 30]. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward I of England. She married 1445 her fourth cousin once removed Thomas Butler 7th Earl Ormonde, son of James "White Earl" Butler 4th Earl Ormonde and Joan Beauchamp Countess Ormonde, and had issue.

In 1431 Richard Hankford [aged 34] died.

Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough

A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

After 25th October 1439 John Holland 2nd Duke Exeter [aged 44] and [his former wife] Anne Montagu Duchess Exeter [aged 39] were married. She by marriage Duchess Exeter. She the daughter of John Montagu 3rd Earl Salisbury and Maud Francis Countess of Salisbury. He the son of John Holland 1st Duke Exeter and Elizabeth Lancaster Duchess Exeter. They were half third cousin once removed. He a great grandson of King Edward III of England. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Edward I of England.

On 28th November 1457 [his former wife] Anne Montagu Duchess Exeter [aged 57] died. She was buried at Church of St Katharine's by the Tower, Tower Hill [Map].

Licence to found a perpetual chantry for one chaplain in the chapel of St. Mary, called "Hangfordis Chapell," in the church of St. George, Monklee, Devon, to pray for the King and Queen, and for the said Anne, Sir [his great grandson] George Seyntleger [aged 35], Thomas Seyntleger, clk., and Margaret Boleyn [aged 65], widow, and for the souls of Sir Thomas Ormond, late earl of Ormond, and lady Anne his wife (father and mother of the said Anne Seyntleger), James and John, brothers of the said earl, William Hangford, Richard-Hangford his son, Sir Richard Hangford, son of the said Richard, and James Seyntleger and Ambrose Griseacre, husbands of the said Anne Seyntleger, and James Seyntleger, her son.
