Jean de Waurin was a French Chronicler, from the Artois region, who was born around 1400, and died around 1474. Waurin’s Chronicle of England, Volume 6, covering the period 1450 to 1471, from which we have selected and translated Chapters relating to the Wars of the Roses, provides a vivid, original, contemporary description of key events some of which he witnessed first-hand, some of which he was told by the key people involved with whom Waurin had a personal relationship.

In or before 1675 [his father] Wilfrid Lawson [aged 38] and [his mother] Sarah James were married.
In 1675 Gilfrid Lawson 6th Baronet was born to Wilfrid Lawson [aged 39] and Sarah James.
After 1679 [his father] Wilfrid Lawson [deceased] died.
On 19th October 1695 Gilfrid Lawson 6th Baronet [aged 20] matriculated Queen's College, Oxford University.
In February 1701 Gilfrid Lawson 6th Baronet [aged 26] was elected MP Cumberland in the year's first election. He didn't stand in the Nov 1701 election.
In 1702 Gilfrid Lawson 6th Baronet [aged 27] was elected MP Cumberland.
In 1708 Gilfrid Lawson 6th Baronet [aged 33] was elected MP Cumberland unopposed. He was re-elected unopposed in 1710, 1713 and 1715.
In 1722 and 1727 Gilfrid Lawson 6th Baronet [aged 47] was elected MP Cumberland
In 1743 Mordaunt Lawson 5th Baronet [aged 10] died. His first cousin twice removed Gilfrid [aged 68] succeeded 6th Baronet Lawson of Isel Hall in Cumbria.
On 23rd August 1749 Gilfrid Lawson 6th Baronet [aged 74] died unmarried. His brother Alfred [aged 73] succeeded 7th Baronet Lawson of Isel Hall in Cumbria.
