On 30th October 1816 [his father] John Henry Vivian [aged 31] and [his mother] Sarah Jones were married.

On 6th July 1821 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea was born to John Henry Vivian [aged 35] and Sarah Jones at Singleton Abbey.

On 15th April 1847 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 25] and Jessie Dalrymple Goddard [aged 22] were married.

On 11th February 1848 [his son] Ernest Ambrose Vivian 2nd Baron Swansea was born to Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 26] and [his wife] Jessie Dalrymple Goddard [aged 23]. His mother died a few weeks later.

On 28th February 1848 [his wife] Jessie Dalrymple Goddard [aged 23] died from childbirth a few weeks after the birth of their only child [his son] Ernest Ambrose Vivian 2nd Baron Swansea.

In 1852 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 30] was elected MP Truro which seat he held until 1857.

On 14th July 1853 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 32] and Flora Caroline Elizabeth Cholmeley were married.

On 10th February 1855 [his father] John Henry Vivian [aged 69] died.

In 1857 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 35] was elected MP Glamorganshire which seat he held until 1885.

William of Worcester's Chronicle of England

William of Worcester, born around 1415, and died around 1482 was secretary to John Fastolf, the renowned soldier of the Hundred Years War, during which time he collected documents, letters, and wrote a record of events. Following their return to England in 1440 William was witness to major events. Twice in his chronicle he uses the first person: 1. when writing about the murder of Thomas, 7th Baron Scales, in 1460, he writes '… and I saw him lying naked in the cemetery near the porch of the church of St. Mary Overie in Southwark …' and 2. describing King Edward IV's entry into London in 1461 he writes '… proclaimed that all the people themselves were to recognize and acknowledge Edward as king. I was present and heard this, and immediately went down with them into the city'. William’s Chronicle is rich in detail. It is the source of much information about the Wars of the Roses, including the term 'Diabolical Marriage' to describe the marriage of Queen Elizabeth Woodville’s brother John’s marriage to Katherine, Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, he aged twenty, she sixty-five or more, and the story about a paper crown being placed in mockery on the severed head of Richard, 3rd Duke of York.

On 25th January 1868 [his wife] Flora Caroline Elizabeth Cholmeley died.

On 10th November 1870 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 49] and Averil Beaumont [aged 29] were married.

On 22nd April 1875 [his son] Odo Vivian 3rd Baron Swansea was born to Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 53] and [his wife] Averil Beaumont [aged 34].

On 13th May 1882 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 60] was created 1st Baronet Vivian of Singleton in Swansea in Glamorganshire.

In 1885 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 63] was elected MP Swansea District which seat he held until 1893.

On 8th September 1886 [his mother] Sarah Jones died.

In 1889 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 67] became the first chairman of the Glamorgan County Council.

On 9th June 1893 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 71] was created 1st Baron Swansea of Singleton in Glamorganshire.

On 28th November 1894 Henry Vivian 1st Baron Swansea [aged 73] died. Probate was granted to his sons Henry Hussey Vivian and Odo Richard Vivian valuing his estate at £163,707 1s 9d. He was buried at St Paul's Church, Sketty. His son Ernest [aged 46] succeeded 2nd Baron Swansea of Singleton in Glamorganshire, 2nd Baronet Vivian of Singleton in Swansea in Glamorganshire.

On 14th January 1934 [his former wife] Averil Beaumont [aged 93] died.
