In 1536, two weeks after the execution of Anne Boleyn, her brother George and four others, Lancelot du Carle, wrote an extraordinary letter that described Anne's life, and her trial and execution, to which he was a witness. This book presents a new translation of that letter, with additional material from other contemporary sources such as Letters, Hall's and Wriothesley's Chronicles, the pamphlets of Wynkyn the Worde, the Memorial of George Constantyne, the Portuguese Letter and the Baga de Secrets, all of which are provided in Appendices.

On 22nd April 1908 [her daughter] Joan Barbara Yarde-Buller was born to [her husband] John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston [aged 34] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 22]. She married 4th July 1927 Group Captain Thomas Loel Evelyn Bulkeley Guinness.

On 12th February 1910 [her son] Richard Yarde-Buller 4th Baron Churston was born to [her husband] John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston [aged 36] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 24].

On 19th April 1910 [her father-in-law] John Yarde-Buller 2nd Baron Churston [aged 63] died. His son John [aged 36] succeeded 3rd Baron Churston, 5th Baronet Yarde-Buller of Churston in Devon.

n 1916 [her daughter] Denise Margaret Yarde-Buller was born to [her husband] John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston [aged 42] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 30]. She married 1941 Robert Grosvenor 5th Baron Ebury, son of Francis Egerton Grosvenor 4th Baron Ebury, and had issue.

On 17th October 1917 [her daughter] Lydia Yarde-Buller Duchess Bedford was born to [her husband] John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston [aged 43] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 32]. She married 13th February 1947 John Ian Robert Russell 13th Duke Bedford, son of Hastings William Russell 12th Duke Bedford and Louisa Crommelin Roberta Jowitt Whitwell Duchess Bedford.

In 1918 [her daughter] Primrose Lilian Yarde-Buller Countess Cadogan was born to [her husband] John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston [aged 44] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 32]. She married 11th June 1936 William Gerald Charles Cadogan 7th Earl Cadogan, son of Gerald Oakley Cadogan 6th Earl Cadogan, and had issue.

On 4th February 1922 Maurice Fitzgerald 6th Duke Leinster [aged 34] died having spent most of his life being cared for in a psychiatric institution at Edinburgh. His brother Edward [aged 29] succeeded 7th Duke Leinster.

On 4th July 1927 [her son-in-law] Group Captain Thomas Loel Evelyn Bulkeley Guinness [aged 21] and Joan Barbara Yarde-Buller [aged 19] were married. They were divorced in 1936. She the daughter of John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston [aged 53] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 41].

On 31st October 1928 Theodor Wilhelm "Tito" Wessel [aged 39] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 43] were married.

On 19th April 1930 [her husband] John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston [aged 56] died. His son Richard [aged 20] succeeded 4th Baron Churston, 6th Baronet Yarde-Buller of Churston in Devon.

In 1934 Theodor Wilhelm "Tito" Wessel [aged 45] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 48] were divorced.

On 11th June 1936 [her son-in-law] William Gerald Charles Cadogan 7th Earl Cadogan [aged 22] and Primrose Lilian Yarde-Buller Countess Cadogan [aged 18] were married. She the daughter of John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 50]. He the son of Gerald Oakley Cadogan 6th Earl Cadogan.

Around 1938 Esme Ivo Bligh 9th Earl of Darnley [aged 51] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 52] were in a relationship.

In 1941 Robert Grosvenor 5th Baron Ebury [aged 26] and Denise Margaret Yarde-Buller [aged 25] were married. She the daughter of John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 55].

On 11th March 1946 Edward Fitzgerald 7th Duke Leinster [aged 53] and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 60] were married. She by marriage Duchess Leinster. He the son of Gerald Fitzgerald 5th Duke Leinster and Hermione Wilhelmina Duncombe Duchess Leinster.

On 13th February 1947 John Ian Robert Russell 13th Duke Bedford [aged 29] and Lydia Yarde-Buller Duchess Bedford [aged 29] were married. She the daughter of John Yarde-Buller 3rd Baron Churston and Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 61]. He the son of Hastings William Russell 12th Duke Bedford [aged 58] and Louisa Crommelin Roberta Jowitt Whitwell Duchess Bedford.

In 1948 [her former husband] Theodor Wilhelm "Tito" Wessel [aged 59] died.

Before 4th September 1960 John Ian Robert Russell 13th Duke Bedford [aged 43] and [her daughter] Lydia Yarde-Buller Duchess Bedford [aged 42] were divorced.

On 20th October 1960 Jessie Smither aka Denise Orme Duchess Leinster [aged 75] died.

On 8th March 1976 [her former husband] Edward Fitzgerald 7th Duke Leinster [aged 83] committed suicide by taking an overdose of pentobarbital.
