On 6th May 1572 Henry Norreys [aged 47] was created 1st Baron Norreys of Rycote. Margery Williams Baroness Norreys Rycote [aged 51] by marriage Baroness Norreys of Rycote.

On 27th June 1601 Henry Norreys [aged 76] died at Rycote, Oxfordshire [Map]. His grandson Francis [aged 21] succeeded 2nd Baron Norreys of Rycote. Bridget Vere Baroness Norreys Rycote [aged 17] by marriage Baroness Norreys of Rycote. Francis Norreys 1st Earl Berkshire inherited the Rycote and Wytham estates. His title to his estates was challenged by his uncle, Sir Edward Norreys, but the latter died in 1603, whose estates also passed to Lord Norreys.

On 29th January 1622 Francis Norreys 1st Earl Berkshire [aged 42] shot himself with a crossbow at Rycote, Oxfordshire [Map]; probably deliberately in view of his having a year before been imprisoned for attaching Emmanuel Scrope [aged 37] at the House of Lords in front of the future King Charles. He died two days later.. He was buried at Dorchester Abbey, Oxfordshire [Map]. His daughter Elizabeth [aged 19] succeeded 3rd Baroness Norreys of Rycote. Earl Berkshire and Viscount Thame extinct. Francis Rose [aged 13] inherited the manors of Weston-on-the-Green and Yattendon. Elizabeth Norreys 3rd Baroness Norreys Rycote inherited the Rycote and Wytham estates.

Before 28th November 1645 the date she was buried at Westminster Abbey, Elizabeth Norreys 3rd Baroness Norreys Rycote [aged 42] died. Her daughter Bridget [aged 18] succeeded 4th Baroness Norreys of Rycote.

On 24th March 1657 Bridget Wray Countess Lindsey [aged 29] died. She was buried with her mother Elizabeth Norreys 3rd Baroness Norreys Rycote in Westminster Abbey. Her son James [aged 3] succeeded 5th Baron Norreys of Rycote.

On 1st February 1672 James Bertie 1st Earl of Abingdon [aged 18] and Eleanor Lee Countess Abingdon were married at Adderbury, Banbury. She by marriage Baroness Norreys of Rycote. He the son of Montagu Bertie 2nd Earl Lindsey and Bridget Wray Countess Lindsey. They were fifth cousin once removed.

On 22nd May 1699 James Bertie 1st Earl of Abingdon [aged 45] died. He was buried at St Michael's Church, Rycote. His son Montagu [aged 26] succeeded 2nd Earl Abingdon, 6th Baron Norreys of Rycote.

On 16th June 1743 Montagu Venables Bertie 2nd Earl of Abingdon [aged 70] died. His nephew Willoughby [aged 50] succeeded 3rd Earl Abingdon, 7th Baron Norreys of Rycote. Anna Maria Collins Countess Abingdon by marriage Countess Abingdon.

Westminster Chronicle of King Richard II, 1381-1394

On 26th September 1799 Willoughby Bertie 4th Earl of Abingdon [aged 59] died. His son Montagu [aged 15] succeeded 5th Earl Abingdon, 9th Baron Norreys of Rycote.

On 16th October 1854 Montagu Bertie 5th Earl of Abingdon [aged 70] died. His son Montagu [aged 46] succeeded 6th Earl Abingdon, 10th Baron Norreys of Rycote. Elizabeth Lavinia Harcourt Countess Abingdon by marriage Countess Abingdon.

On 8th February 1884 Montagu Bertie 6th Earl of Abingdon [aged 75] died. His son Montagu [aged 47] succeeded 7th Earl Abingdon, 11th Baron Norreys of Rycote.

On 10th March 1928 Montagu Arthur Bertie 7th Earl of Abingdon [aged 91] died. His grandson Montagu [aged 40] succeeded 8th Earl Abingdon, 12th Baron Norreys of Rycote. Elizabeth Valetta Montagu-Stuart-Wortley Countess Abingdon [aged 31] by marriage Countess Abingdon. It isn't clear whether their marriage took place before or after the death of his father.

On 11th September 1963 Montagu Henry Edmund Cecil Towneley Bertie 8th Earl of Abingdon 13th Earl Lindsey [aged 75] died. His first cousin Richard [aged 32] succeeded 14th Earl Lindsey, 9th Earl Abingdon, 13th Baron Norreys of Rycote.
