The Gesta Normannorum Ducum [The Deeds of the Dukes of Normandy] is a landmark medieval chronicle tracing the rise and fall of the Norman dynasty from its early roots through the pivotal events surrounding the Norman Conquest of England. Originally penned in Latin by the monk William of Jumièges shortly before 1060 and later expanded at the behest of William the Conqueror, the work chronicles the deeds, politics, battles, and leadership of the Norman dukes, especially William’s own claim to the English throne. The narrative combines earlier historical sources with firsthand information and oral testimony to present an authoritative account of Normandy’s transformation from a Viking settlement into one of medieval Europe’s most powerful realms. On 29th November 1875 Thomas Taylour 3rd Marquess of Headfort [aged 53] and Emily Thynne Marchioness of Headfort [aged 35] were married. She by marriage Marchioness of Headfort. He the son of Thomas Taylour 2nd Marquess of Headfort and Olivia Stevenson.
On 22nd July 1894 Thomas Taylour 3rd Marquess of Headfort [aged 71] died. His son Geoffrey [aged 16] succeeded 4th Marquess of Headfort, 5th Earl Bective of Bective Castle in Meath, 5th Viscount Headfort in Headfort, Country Meath, 5th Baron Headfort in Heatfort, Country Meath.
On 11th April 1901 Geoffrey Taylour 4th Marquess of Headfort [aged 22] and Rosie Boote Marchioness of Headfort [aged 23] were married at Saltwood Registry Office, near Folkestone, Kent. She by marriage Marchioness of Headfort. "Tremendous efforts were made to prevent the marriage by all Lord Headfort's relatives and friends," noted a 1903 summary of the event; even the King attempted to discourage the match. He the son of Thomas Taylour 3rd Marquess of Headfort and Emily Thynne Marchioness of Headfort [aged 61].
On 29th January 1943 Geoffrey Taylour 4th Marquess of Headfort [aged 64] died. His son Terence [aged 40] succeeded 5th Marquess of Headfort, 6th Earl Bective of Bective Castle in Meath, 6th Viscount Headfort in Headfort, Country Meath, 6th Baron Headfort in Heatfort, Country Meath.
On 24th October 1960 Terence Taylour 5th Marquess of Headfort [aged 58] died. His son Michael [aged 28] succeeded 6th Marquess of Headfort, 7th Earl Bective of Bective Castle in Meath, 7th Viscount Headfort in Headfort, Country Meath, 7th Baron Headfort in Heatfort, Country Meath.
On 21st October 2005 Michael Taylour 6th Marquess of Headfort [aged 73] died. His son Thomas [aged 46] succeeded 7th Marquess of Headfort, 8th Earl Bective of Bective Castle in Meath, 8th Viscount Headfort in Headfort, Country Meath, 8th Baron Headfort in Heatfort, Country Meath.
