On 13th January 1881 [his father] Walter Grindlay Simpson 2nd Baronet [aged 37] and [his mother] Ann Fitzgerald Mackay Lady Simpson [aged 24] were married at Banchory-Devenick.
On 8th February 1885 Second Lieutenant Oda Louis David Mackay Simpson was born to Walter Grindlay Simpson 2nd Baronet [aged 41] and Ann Fitzgerald Mackay Lady Simpson [aged 28]. He was educated at Eton College [Map].
On 29th May 1898 [his father] Walter Grindlay Simpson 2nd Baronet [aged 54] died at Balabraes Ayton. His son [his brother] James [aged 15] succeeded 2nd Baronet Simpson of Strathavon and the City of Edinburgh.
In September 1914 Second Lieutenant Oda Louis David Mackay Simpson [aged 29] enlisted in the 32nd Battalion Canadian Infantry sailing to England in Feb 1915.
On 1st September 1915 Second Lieutenant Oda Louis David Mackay Simpson [aged 30] transferred to the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters travelling to France on 29th May 1915.
On 5th June 1916 Second Lieutenant Oda Louis David Mackay Simpson [aged 31] joined the 16th Battalion Sherwood Foresters. He was wounded at Beaumonth Hamel, Somme and evacuated to England.
After 5th June 1916 Second Lieutenant Oda Louis David Mackay Simpson [aged 31] rejoined the 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters
On 13th July 1918 Second Lieutenant Oda Louis David Mackay Simpson [aged 33] was killed in action at Ridge Wood Ypres. He was unmarried. He was buried at Nine Elms British Cemetery Poperinghe Ypres Plot XIV. Row A, Grave 8.
