Edward Pytts of Kyre Park 1606-1672

In 1606 Edward Pytts of Kyre Park was born to James Pytts of Kyre Park.

Before 1627 Edward Pytts of Kyre Park [aged 20] and Elizabeth Sandys were married.

Around 1627 [his son] James Pytts was born to Edward Pytts of Kyre Park [aged 21] and [his wife] Elizabeth Sandys. He married (1) after 1643 Lucy Smallman (2) before 1686 Anne Fettiplace, daughter of John Fettiplace 1st Baronet.

After 1643 [his son] James Pytts [aged 16] and [his daughter-in-law] Lucy Smallman were married. There were no children from the marriage.

In 1654 Edward Pytts of Kyre Park [aged 48] was elected MP Worcestershire.

On 16th May 1654 [his son-in-law] Henry Bromley [aged 22] and [his daughter] Mercy Pytts were married.

In 1656 Edward Pytts of Kyre Park [aged 50] was elected MP Worcestershire.

In 1659 Edward Pytts of Kyre Park [aged 53] was elected MP Bewdley.

In 1660 Edward Pytts of Kyre Park [aged 54] was elected MP Leominster.

Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke

Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson.

On 3rd November 1672 Edward Pytts of Kyre Park [aged 66] died.

[his daughter] Mercy Pytts was born to Edward Pytts of Kyre Park and Elizabeth Sandys. She married 16th May 1654 Henry Bromley and had issue.
