Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke
Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson.

In July 1690 Thomas Rawlinson [aged 43] was appointed colonel of the trained bands.
In or before 1693 Thomas Rawlinson [aged 45] and Mary Taylor were married. They had fifteen children.
In 1696 Thomas Rawlinson [aged 48] was elected Master of the Worshipful Company of Vintners.
On 1st December 1696 Thomas Rawlinson [aged 49] was elected alderman of the ward of Baynard's Castle [Map].
In 1705 Thomas Rawlinson [aged 57] was elected Lord Mayor of London.
On 21st July 1705 Thomas Rawlinson [aged 58] was appointed Colonel of the White Regiment.
On 22nd October 1705 Thomas Rawlinson [aged 58] was appointed President of Bridewell and Bethlehem hospitals.
Before 18th November 1708 Thomas Rawlinson [aged 61] died. He was buried on 20th November 1708 at St Dionis Backchurch.
Before 1st March 1725 [his former wife] Mary Taylor died. She was buried on 1st March 1725 at St Dionis Backchurch.
[his son] Reverend Robert Rawlinson of Charlwood in Surrey was born to Thomas Rawlinson. He married Margaret Ray.
