On 3rd August 1934 Claud Dobree Strickland [aged 25] and [his future wife] Marguerite Rose Bligh aka Tangye [aged 21] were married. She the daughter of [his future father-in-law] Esme Ivo Bligh 9th Earl of Darnley [aged 47] and Daphne Rachel Mulholland [aged 44].
On 27th October 1939 Nigel Trevithick Tangye [aged 30] and Ann Todd [aged 32] were married.

On 30th April 1942 Gordon Stanley Keith Haywood and [his future wife] Marguerite Rose Bligh aka Tangye [aged 29] were married. She the daughter of [his future father-in-law] Esme Ivo Bligh 9th Earl of Darnley [aged 55] and Daphne Rachel Mulholland [aged 51].
On 12th June 1944 [his father] Richard Trevithick Gilbertstone Tangye [aged 68] died.

On 12th March 1949 Nigel Trevithick Tangye [aged 39] and Ann Todd [aged 42] were divorced.
On 21st May 1949 David Lean [aged 41] and [his former wife] Ann Todd [aged 42] were married. Both third weddings. She had divorced her second husband Nigel Trevithick Tangye [aged 40], his second cousin1, ten weeks before.
Note 1. Her first husband Nigel Trevithick Tangye was a great grandson of Joseph Tangye who was a grandfather of David Lean's mother Helena Tangye [aged 77].
Chronicle of Walter of Guisborough
A canon regular of the Augustinian Guisborough Priory, Yorkshire, formerly known as The Chronicle of Walter of Hemingburgh, describes the period from 1066 to 1346. Before 1274 the Chronicle is based on other works. Thereafter, the Chronicle is original, and a remarkable source for the events of the time. This book provides a translation of the Chronicle from that date. The Latin source for our translation is the 1849 work edited by Hans Claude Hamilton. Hamilton, in his preface, says: 'In the present work we behold perhaps one of the finest samples of our early chronicles, both as regards the value of the events recorded, and the correctness with which they are detailed; Nor will the pleasing style of composition be lightly passed over by those capable of seeing reflected from it the tokens of a vigorous and cultivated mind, and a favourable specimen of the learning and taste of the age in which it was framed.'

On 15th June 1980 [his former brother-in-law] Major Peter Stuart Bligh 10th Earl of Darnley [aged 64] died. His half brother Adam [aged 38] succeeded 11th Earl Darnley, 20th Baron Clifton of Leighton Bromswold in Huntingdonshire.
In 1988 Nigel Trevithick Tangye [aged 78] died.
